Hardly the bands fault. Greed from hospitality. Why is it necessary to charge someone an extra £500 for a room that usually costs £82?

Using Oasis as an excuse for overpricing already in place due to the Festival. Booked our usual travelodge for 1st week of the Fringe last Sept, before Oasis were even thought of. £1400 for 6 nights, twice the price of the usual rate. Same every year. Festival is pricing performers/attendees out.

Accommodation costs are ridiculous. I wish the Fringe itself had any power to change that but it’s a much bigger issue for the city year round. I keep thinking it will have to collapse at some point but it keeps on going!

My niece was wanting to move from the Midlands to Edinburgh. Trying to find a flat to rent was a complete nightmare, She was only successful when she spent a week in the city and could respond immediately. She absolutely loves living in Leith. And #AirBnB is a huge factor in the shortage of flats.
