So I’ve been in Edinburgh for a week and suddenly there’s some story about flags being everywhere? Do I actually have to work out what this is about or is it just some tabloid bullshit?

They've imagined that "the government" removes British/English flags and happily replace them with Palestinian flags and replacing ppl with Muslims. So they are putting up flags in really white areas with minimal multiculturalism. If it stops them burning hotels I guess it is OK.

St George’s flag - that flag beloved by the far right to symbolise their patriotism. A man born in Turkey who died in Palestine in the 3rd century & never set foot in this country. Revered by both Christians & Muslims alike - be interesting to know how many buying red/white paint know any of this.

I thought about that. But that feels the wrong approach 1. Not sure I could do it without being run over 2. I don’t think that the rainbow flag is, or should be, the opposite of the Cross of St George. I get the argument, but it feels the wrong tack to me.
