I think because of how its bent it stays flush to the dent in my nostril so doesn't catch on anything. I bought 2 more, green&red, but unfortunately the green I was so excited for got a cut in the metal so it irritates if I wear it, I'm not a big fan of the red one, so I wear the black exclusively.
