I dont think it's them, so much as they're lonely and distant from it all. They dont see a lot of things in their personal life. They only hear about them. It's circumstances that bring them to that place. The internet would have changed it, but broadband access and propaganda put a pin in that.

.. brummies of Asian ancestry do go there and rather than revelling in the money being brought in I hear complaints about the “invasions of brown people”. A lot of the old guest houses are used for emergency housing which doesn’t help. And then just up the road is Bristol which is thriving!
