Protecting your union members by fighting for their rights is a great thing. - Spreading the lies they have about a specific venue, and pinning the blame on an unrelated party is decidedly not. - Do better.

As stated here, AEW has their own road crew. - It is perfectly normal for them to not use IATSE members for setting up their highly specialized equipment, especially in a smaller venue.
Please keep doing the bidding of a company who helped Trump getting elected. I think that will help a lot with your workers rights.
Yesterday, AEW refused to use union workers under any circumstances.
How so? Is their traveling crew not IATSE?
as a union member, I'd love to know what the hell is actually going on here
They are. They're union through IATSE 115 in Florida, which means they're absolutely paying prevailing wage
I was going to go but now I’m not. Never cross a picket line.
What evidence do you have that that’s the case? Genuinely curious, seeing a lot of different perspectives on this from IATSE and non-affiliated industry folks.
For clarification: Neither AEW nor 2300 Arena has signed a collective bargaining agreement with any IATSE Local for their Philadelphia based production. This means it is not an IATSE union production.
This is a very obvious lie, as AEW's setup crew is union.

Unacceptable and we will not be attending any of the shows there.
They don't need to & you know that. Just shut the fuck up already. You're going after other union members & you look dumb as shit.
Question, did NXT and WWE sign a collective agreement in 2024? And if not, did you complain then?
WWE did not. And this local union didn't complain because this local union doesn't actually care, they just want attention. I have never seen a union go after other union members in the same union. Bizarre behavior.
I find it so bizarre because going after WWE would have done so much good. Instead they are attacking a company that uses their own union workers
At this point, it clearly seems to be an astroturfed campaign. AEW has been touring the country for 6+ years, with multiple residencies, and it's never come up before. Looks like the local union is really desperate for attention.
They want to unionize the Arena. I get that. But you try to convince Khan to threaten not to run the venue to try to force them to go union, not strong arm them at the last minute.
I don't even think that's the issue, because the Chicago residency was a union building & no one in Chicago complained.
Just checking in to see why we didn't get a similar reaction for WWE when they did the exact same venue.
Because the AEW event has not proven to the union they are paying the stage hands the local rate
They don't pay the local crew, the arena does. 2300 is notorious in Philly for being anti-union. AEW's normal crew is IATSE, but the specific number is eluding me. 115? Maybe?
They are union but they are not working at 2300 with a bargaining agreement.
That's not accurate. 2300 has no agreement, AEW has nothing to do with local crew.
That is accurate and is directly from IATSE general. There is no agreement in place with any locals, not Jacksonville and not Philly.
Then why pray tell are Philly union members on Facebook saying otherwise? Philly union leadership is known for being problematic, but the union itself is full of good people.
The information is not from the Philly union, it is from the IATSE general. There is no active bargaining agreement with any IATSE for the event at 2300 and has been categorized as a non union event. That information is directly from IATSE general.
Hopefully this post thread helps explain my point? I appreciate you being civil as we talk about this. bsky.app/profile/actu...
Yes. That is for local crew. Not road crew. 2300 sets local crew, not AEW. It's 2 different sets of crew
Where were the protests and complaining when WWE went there?
No, there weren't, oddly enough.
Did wwe have a 7 show residency deal with the arena?
No but what does that have to do with anything? It’s still working a non-union venue rather it’s one show or 75
Because booking a venue for one night is different than working WITH the venue(who's the unions actual problem) for 7 nights.
Either way you’re working with the venue
OK, so your graphic claimed that AEW does not pay area standard wages and benefits. What's your evidence for this?
Your own member said on facebook its not about AEW; its the venue you have a problem with.
They use local 115, nothing to do with you nutbag
Why are you lying about this? You know AEW has its own staff, who are in the union. Why would the company hire people unfamiliar with their equipment and procedures, and who would be less efficient in setting things up rather than trusting their own staff to protect their performers?
I'm not gonna repeat everyone whose ratioing you right now. Instead I wanna say how shameful it is to attack the company who already uses union workers for their shows during a time when the maga government has stripped away federal union protections, evicted the reps and is just overall anti-union.
Honestly, with their tactics it makes you wonder why AEW would EVER want to work with this chapter in the future. Hell the workers in Chicago were literally just talking about how AEW was a joy to work with, when they were in the Aragon. This tactic is baffling on so many levels.
And it completely misses the mark when the issue they have should be with the venue itself.
Yeah, they don't even mention their issues with the venue.
Care to issue a correction or no?
They already use union talent. What the fuck is this?
bsky.app/profile/necr...
Respectfully, their traveling crew are IATSE. Fuck off.
As someone who has been part of a Trade Union for my entire working life, I’m a little baffled by your decision to go after AEW this way. This is not what the union movement is about, and had it been my Union the membership would have been furious. Pretty poor showing.
So now you are trying this BS here? My lord this is weak sauce and I say that as a Union Rep.
You re a disgrace to all union workers doing this unreasonable smear attack, your shtick. We can assume you're just hired grifters which makes this complaining about hiring even sadder. You know it, you aren't pro union, you taint the good union name to bootlick the facist monopoly MAGAWWE.
There's still time to delete this you know.
Go after the venue. And reporting for misinformation 😘
Hey pal, Philly native here. Why the hell didn't y'all go after WWE when they ran 2300? This might be the first time y'all catch a counter protest because this is absolute clown shoes levels of nonsense.
Any of you have ties to people that work at the Liacouras Center?
They probably pay more than area standard which is what has you guys all worked up.
I have said this before, just because they're not using YOUR Union doesn't mean they're not paying Prevailing Wage, as required by the state of PA. I have seen Unions do this for years. They're pissed cause it's not their guys.
100% - otherwise they would be more transparent about it, and entirely less weird with their shakedown tactics.
I deal with Unions every day. This is their MO. I get OPRA requests all the time from them when they're pissed about their guys not getting on PW projects. They are angry, nothing more, this will change nothing.
Imagine wanting union members to lose their income just so your union members can have the payday instead. Shameful.
Just report it as misleading. Local 8 has an issue with 2300, not AEW, and they’re taking it out on AEW. It’s shameful.
It's not too late to issue a correction
@smashvillain.etheirys.social
Well that sucks. You'd expect them to be more willing to pay properly compared to the other big company.
They do...this is bs.
Its a lie. AEW's crew is IATSE in Jacksonville.
They have a pissing match with the 2300 Arena.
Yea except this is a fucking lie. They’re just upset that AEW isn’t using *their* union crew.
Goootcha, thanks for the heads up.
