🥺🥺🥺 thank you, I didn’t expect such a warm welcome back 💜 (also can relate to katakana being the devil)

Well, shucks, you deserve it. Your comics were always a bright spot even if I didn't know I needed a light at the time. lol. And I've made some progress with Katakana! It's still rough, but I was able to read some different words lately. I've been using Anime song titles to help. :)
😭 you have no idea how much that means to me. It’s weird / scary to have been away for so long. At one point I tried to play Pokémon in Japanese and the katakana Pokémon and move names were an uphill battle 😂
I hope I can speak for many of us that we've missed seeing your affirming posts in one way or another and that we're glad you're back. ^^ I do not think I could play a game in Japanese just yet. I know some Kanji, but the vast majority of basic Kanji I do not yet know. lol
🥺🥺🥺 taking a screenshot to remind me of this How long have you been studying? Me 4 years but I didn’t have time the last year so I forgot a lot. I also only started with kanji like 3 years in 😬
:) Forgive me. This is gonna be long. I will include a tl;dr. lol. Technically, I've been learning since 11th grade in my high school Spanish class. lol. That's when I first learned Hiragana (In a week, mind you!). I also skipped into a Part 2 Beginner's class in college because I learned 1/?
a bunch of conversational Japanese by osmosis of anime, so when the teacher who knew I had not been in the first class immediately started talking to me in Japanese, I could respond just as fast. But I struggled with writing my own name cuz Katakana. >.< 2/?
tl;dr, technically 19 years, but only seriously started trying to get to N5 level in the last six months. lol.
Im not sure which way of looking at it would motivate me more 😂 but it helps to have that tiny background of having heard / spoken a tiny bit of Japanese before! I need to get back to it as well, let’s keep each other motivated if you want ✌️
lol. It's been a slow road, but unlike many other things including other langauges, I haven't dropped trying to learn Japanese after nearly two decades. I am down for that. Having a study partner would be awesome. よろしくおねがいします。
楽しみにしています🌟🌟🌟
when I lived in Japan, a long time ago, I watched the Japanese cartoons to help learn Japanese because the language was so simple and slow. I didn’t understand it all, but it helped.
