i love looking at the numbers from wakefield's rookie year. it's like he's from another galaxy. he threw a 146 pitch CGSHO with 10 strikeouts and five walks, then threw 144 pitches in his second start, then threw 123 in his third.

I remember he said something once that the only reason he couldn't just pitch forever in a game was because of his back. Eventually that part of you gets tired even if your arm doesn't.
