I live there. This isn’t locals doing this, I can assure you. It’s typical Middle England - probably 98% white British and very middle class. Most people will be appalled by this nonsense.

It is unfortunately locals. And all you will see on local social media is support for it as nobody can object with getting abuse

The local Facebook group is vilifying people for taking the flags down (with vague threats of retribution due to Ring doorbell or CCTV footage), but I am certain this is not funded by local people. None on my road yet, and it will be staying that way.
