The narrative set by the UK media is completely anti-immigration. I live a few miles from Birmingham and lived in it for 30 years - it’s not perfect, but it’s a great example of how different ethnicities can get along. If you were to believe the press, you’d think we were at war with each other.

Hi Alex, we are leaving Santorini for Athens tomorrow. It is very beautiful, but it is *so* crowded with cruise ship visitors - and really expensive! I get the feeling that its beauty has been exploited by commercial interests - much more so than, say, Lanzarote (as another volcanic island).
It’s very pretty, but I’m not sure I’d hurry back. Very busy and in many ways much more commercialised than Lanzarote, which I happen to really like. We are excited to be heading to Athens tomorrow for four nights.
It’s very picturesque, but it’s overrun by cruise ship crowds (we’re in Fira) - and it’s very expensive. There’s also lots of young people, here for an Instagram shot of the beautiful sunset - feels a bit shallow. We have a lovely small aparthotel though, and have had the pool mostly to ourselves!
Excellent idea. We’re on our last evening in Santorini. Cases are packed and I’m enjoying a quiet solo beer outside while my daughters chill indoors. Hope you’re having a fab time.
