Baller move Haven’t put enough thought into it. But my first pass is it depends. Do the Dems have a strategy, with a defined ask, that they can achieve? If yes, govt shut down good. But they need to make a real case to the US people. In other words unlike the last time. Which was bad.

Ending impoundment is incredibly specific and core to the preservation of Article I. There can be no higher priority - meaning, all other costs are justified - unless those costs demonstrably outweigh the survival of constitutional order itself, without which we descend into civil war.

I’d be into that. Propter posted something on that saying it maybe doesn’t work.

Yeah. I think there was this discussion around the same thing in March. I don’t know if more explicit language can be adopted. Or you have to play hardball and say we’ll defund the WH OMB unless you agree. I dont think we’re at the point where law doesn’t matter at all. There are degrees.

And if we are at the point where law doesn’t matter. Then Congress doesn’t matter. In which case. Idk they are gonna have to refuse to be seated and we all need to be in the streets (which … sort of).

This is broadly correct, I think. Saying “The republicans control the house, the republicans control the senate, if they want democratic votes on something it needs to reflect x y z priorities” should be pretty straightforward.
