The truth is, 7/8 and 7/4 are essentially the same thing. It’s just about notation. And maybe nominally about feel, some folks might say, but they’d be wrong.

Yeah, I mean if the 1 comes after you count to seven it's 7/8 or 7/4, sound the same, same to play. If the 1 comes after you count to five, you may be Dave Brubeck.

True snobs count it as alternating bars of 4/4 and -1/8.

And this is why I suck at time sigs! lol It's either a 3-count, ergo waltz, or it's not. :P (NB: I have no formal music training and anything smaller than an 1/8th note is beyond me.)
