Is there anyone who prefers the orchestrated videogame soundtracks over the original ? Can you explain it to me?

I don’t prefer it but I do really like having them both!
It is interesting indeed! But sometimes it feels like they change the accompaniment a lot or anesthesize the percussion and I wonder why
In the conversion they probably smooth a lot of it out, if the original music was constrained to a primal set of instruments where beats were much heavier by volume
me, a percussionist: more beat please people: what me: what
this part lowering the dynamics of percussion is weird- but think about how alot of games have these set pieces with explosions, and alot of dramatic voice work;so using louder percussion prolly has to have more intent or else you may accidentally contradict the higher expectations of sound design.
ugh yeah- its more music duh; i especially like it when you can switch back and fourth at will instead of just having a toggle early in the game; cause then i can compare its appropriateness and i dont often come out thinking either is better; rarely worse. its the same song so not much to fuck up
wait I don't understand what do you mean by more music
its literally more music. like for instance FF7 music was great right? well now cause the remake has a closer lens into the characters and can really ACT in a way they couldnt with the lil dolls on the ps1; so they have layers- action queues-incidental environment music; its more music. literally.
i see what you mean yes! having more ways to look at things that makes sense!
