Empathy is like intel- it’s neutral. You can use it to comfort someone, or to beat them in negotiations. Kindness is only one possible application. And no, I am not part of the problem thanks.

You’re being pedantic, then. Everyone has an understanding of what is meant by empathy in the context that was given. You ignored his context and said there isn’t enough to determine what he means by empathy.. its purposefully obtuse to assume he meant anything other than “the golden rule”.
