The time to fix where the media was going was about 50-60 years ago. It’s gonna take some drastic bottom-up revolution to fix now. And how do you maintain free speech while stifling bad-faith actors that also own the media itself? And almost all channels of communication?
The media has been on the oligarchs side for my entire life. We’re just seeing the culmination of it now. All the “little” things that felt uncomfortable and off-putting about how they worked for many years has gone from a “well thats just how it is 🤷🏾♂️” thing to “oh, this is where that leads” thing.

I’ve been seeing the joke around the internet, and it’s very apt here: “Oops, The NRA and 2A people accidentally forgot to fight the tyrannical government”
And its all by design.. squeeze everyone with deepening inequality, and slowly gut education.. horrible combination. I, personally, know too many people who can’t even fully grasp what’s happening, let alone convincing them to make sacrifices to stop it.
It also doesn’t help that the forums we have to talk amongst ourselves are right out in the open and accessible by bots / trolls like that guy. He wasn’t saying anything wildly different from me, but I’m not saying you’re wrong like him. I’m just lamenting what I see as the reality of our situation.
Its not too late yet. And I hate to be a “doomer”, I really do. But the fact that we’ve even gotten HERE, seems to be all the data we need to assess where we are going.
Yeah.. I think once it begins to impact the illusion of normalcy on a level that cant be ignored by not watching the news or using social media, then the collective action will be almost automatic, but “they” will have prepared for that outcome and it will be too late.
