You ever have a PC problem and actually somehow find a Reddit thread where one single comment has solved the issue and everyone is praising that person but one of the steps outlined mentions something that does not show up for you and it isn’t at all clear why.
Literally just happened yesterday. Was looking for a fix for frame rate issues for Avowed and a Reddit thread had lines of code to add to the engine.ini file that miraculously worked.
The ‘BUT I DON’T HAVE THAT OPTION ON MINE’ pain is real.
Oh one of the replies mentions having my same issue. No one ever replied to them.

This is, in fact, the quintessential PC troubleshooting experience honestly lol. I've made peace with it now over the years
i can go one level worse. it was me that posted the problem and found a solution i diddnt post then years later i have the same problem and can't remember the fix but searching finds that thread

That's the true pc troubleshooting experience there. Second only to "solved it" (No explanation)
This is a very old problem but it's only gotten worse in recent years
Its either that or they say "nvm fixed it" with zero explanation. Its maddening.

Yes. Not just Reddit. Even on application "user forums" the instructions inevitably instructions a selection that doesn't exist.
Yes seems like 80% of the time.
A lot of answers have been posted where how they word the question itself makes it damn near impossible to find You can’t search by answers You can only search by questions
