Are you a “planner” or a “pantser” when developing your story? I do “flashlight method” - I have a map that shows me landmarks and a destination (my outline) but the flashlight allows wandering or discovery along the way. Heading towards a goal but leaving room for whimsy. #writing #writingcommunity
Definitely a planner, but still pants in a few places.
Yeah I feel like it’s a 60/40 kinda thing. I love those moments though when the story takes on a life of its own and you make choices you weren’t planning but just feel right.
I agree. It’s so exciting to have a map to follow, but also super exciting to have the story grow wings. lol
I never put it that way, but I think it's my favourite way to go as well!
