The problem with this argument is Trump saying there should be voter ID or mail in voting shouldn’t exist doesn’t make those things actually change.

Right, but the vast majority of this country is fairly low information on politics. He just signs something, declares it's real, the NYT doesn't push back... And now you have two different groups fighting about it. Now people are confused and a few of them decide the easiest path is to not try.

I live in a swing state so maybe it's different where you are but we get hounded with text messages and mailers and canvassers to make sure we're registered, how to request a mail-in ballot or vote in person, what ID to bring, etc. If someone doesn't know, it's because they live in a cave.
