I will vote for whoever can win against MAGA. Full stop. If others understood that is Job #1 and had voted for Harris, we wouldn't be in this mess. There's widespread support for taxing billionaires and everything else can be fixed eventually...but only if we take control away from MAGA.
It is exactly this mentality which has allowed both parties to spend the last 50 years sprinting to the right while destroying the power labor once had in this country while destroying the planet, impoverishing millions, and exporting violence all over the globe in the name of bipartisanship.
I don't disagree. Yet, there's also been a lot of progress in certain areas over that same timeframe. Unfortunately, we're now tipped so far to the right that it's going to take a while to get back to "making progress." This country is not moving to socialism or communism in one election cycle.
This country needs to move to socialism in a hurry or the fascists are going to become even more entrenched than they are now. Never forget that it was the Red Army that took Berlin and liberated Auschwitz before helping the US secure the surrender of Japan.
Defending Newsom, *who actively harms trans people & just launched a literal large scale cleansing of the state of unhoused people, both groups actively dehumanized & targeted by maga* will continue the rightward shift. Look up what he’s recently vetoed: healthcare for teachers. He is right wing.
