I read 'Tower of the Elephant' for the first time early this year and it was like something clicked. "Oh, yes, this Conan thing, I get it now."

The original Conan stories are a blast! They're entertaining in their own right, and you can really feel the presence of the brilliant and slightly deranged autodidact who wrote them.
