back when the NRA was very pro-gun-control, worried about the black panthers arming themselves to protect their neighbors. now we all need to arm ourselves...against a police state. orange hitler signed the EO criminalizing homelessness (ie, poverty) & addiction. i'm sure disabled is next.

The Black Panthers actually operated like a real political party. When’s the last time your local Democratic Party ran a soup kitchen? When did your local Democratic Party do anything for your community except demand money from it?

Actually, the local Dems support food banks with government and private donations. And compared to Republicans, I'd say it's foolish to hate on Democrats. If you're unhappy with them, feel free to start your own party, pick a party you agree, or don't vote. All the privilege of being an American

The Black Panthers armed with hunting rifles would shadow LAPD in Black neighborhoods because of their history of brutality. Naturally instead of fixing the police brutality situation CA Democrats made open carry of loaded firearms illegal w/o a permit. Sort of like LA mayor Karen Bass doing today.

I looked down on my older brother because the only books he read were post-apocalypse actioners. Then I listened to a prisoner advocate say, "I never heard anyone tell me they are here [in prison] because they only read comic books. I do hear them say it's because they can't read." That got me.

It's true. Education and reduction of poverty will reduce crime better than any private prison or filling the streets with militarized police forces...

We need more groups like The Black Panthers and more men like Bobby Rush. We need community more than ever.

I teach High School, I agree, I can lead a kid to education but I can't make them think or accept what's being offered. As I say to parents of kids that fail, 'They're not buying what we're selling.' I'll just keep trying tho...
