Mass, relentless public protest is all there is. Every other mechanism for stopping despotism has failed. There's a reason that so many state constitutions include the phrase "All political power is inherent in the people"

I wish the economy would fucking collapse already so people would take the streets, let’s get a move on
Most insufferable person you've ever met: "ummm I already did my part by *voting* for Kamala"
Yep we need strikes, marches everything relentless
WHEN will MSM report on the quiet scenes outside meat processing facilities in RED STATES where thousands of undocumented workers are employed in terrible conditions for low pay that AMERICANS won’t do? Magats love attacking LA & blue cities, but RED STATES? Not so much. EXPOSE the deals & hypocrisy
Standby: How quickly and easily the Trump Reich was able to strike fear + oppress any opposition. This allowed them to arrest + deport political opposition at the same time as collecting and sending undesirables to concentration camp in El Salvador. All those involved profited personally. #FUMAGA
And yet...
The serpent has arrived. Constitutional Crisis v1. 🔻🔻🔻 ▫️How will the Citizens respond? ▫️How will SCOTUS respond? ▫️How will Congress respond? ▫️How will Big Law respond? ▫️How will Mainstream Media respond?
Can we also bring back bullying for this specific set of circumstances
I suggest rolling General Strikes need to be organised Capital will concede nothing without material resistance.
Isn't this basically an undeclared civil war? Someone explain how this isn't an undeclared civil war
A general strike is not a civil war and is still a mass sustained public protest.
I'm referring to what Trump is doing. How can the president ignore the Supreme Court?
Oh, yeah that's pretty run of the mill dictator shit. We don't really have a protocol for what happens if a billionaire installs a foreign puppet in the White House.
Sometimes I like to ask a random person "What was the last protest that happened in your state/county/city and what was it about?" I think most people can only point to Jan 6 2021. I don't know what protest will do when Trump has a cabinet of "professional" liars and can ignore protests.
What are you going to do? Nothing?
I'm learning Chinese.
It's still worse there than in the US. Ol' Winnie the Pooh came into power as a dicatator and doubled down from there. You've got millions imprisoned for being Muslim, the economy is in big trouble, and he's looking to draw his country into a quagmire war trying to destroy Taiwan and the US Navy.
Ok.
Groups like the Citizens' Commission to Investigate the FBI and the people who staged the draft board raids had the right idea.
a general strike would be far more effective than protests, they can't ignore that
Honestly at this point the democratic governors and mayors need to all pool together, stop trying to appease this man, and announce that they will no longer cooperate with the federal government on immigration. Use the national guard to block ICE if necessary Anything less is treason
The constitution functionally no longer applies, the courts have no means of enforcing their rulings on Trump and congressional republicans will never break with him on this. Trump is an illegitimate leader who has annihilated constitutional law, and they should act accordingly
Every Democrat who complies with Trump should be treated just like a willing collaborator, forced out of power, and put on trial
i wish ppl would stop calling for mass relentless strikes and start calling for mass relentless organizing. one is sexy the other is mostly coming up with to do lists over signal so i get it but fucking still
A huge part of what @generalstrikeus.bsky.social is doing is organizing the mutual aid that will be necessary to support a sustained strike. Not everyone can go on strike. We need 11 mil strikers with a large network of financial & organizational support behind them. This group is doing the work!
thank u! just followed them
Unfortunately, most of this stuff is barely even on the radar of many (most?) Americans. One thing I’ve learned in recent elections is folks pay more attention during POTUS election cycles and even then they barely know what most folks here are upset about. It will get A LOT worse from here.
Do Americans realise that even the "mere" >30.000 souls in Utah are enough to stop DJT in his tracks if they REALLY resist and realise the 2nd amendment is meant to stop a tyrant?
This is also the reason Republicans have made it legal for killing people at protests with your car
Do Cybertrucks have a "protest mode" update yet?
That’s the one where the spikes come out from the front bumper after a button press or a scan of POC in the immediate vicinity
Trump is fucking deranged and needs to be locked up period. This is fucking insanity and I’m so fucking tired sick of this absolute ridiculous bullshit!!! Why has anyone ever followed the law if it’s this easy to break. Fuck this shit and fuck that bloated shit pants asshole!
What about civil war?
The gov watching all this shit could do more @governorferguson.bsky.social
The way things are going it's going to take more than that to uproot these fascists. They are escalating things every day, and if they declare their 'martial law' and start shipping people en masse off to the death camps then The People will need to escalate drastically further than mere protests.
Yeah, kill the aristocrats, then 20,000 more people, then end up with *checks notes* an Emperor.
WTF? He wants to rid this country of ANYONE WHO DISAGREES WITH HIS INSANITY! TIME TO LOSE OUR SHIT ON THIS ADMIN!
we should specifically demand our elected leaders engage in a political general strike. no unanimous consent ever in the house or senate. stop all federal cooperation at the state level. grind this entire system to a fucking halt
Yes, this, and the rest of resistance, too. Imagine looking back on the "Stop Trump!" summer of '25, when victory was won. Imagine dying old in your beds with that victory flavour still on your lips.
💯 As I keep saying. The solution isn't in Congress or the courts. It's in the streets.
I heard Schumer and Jefferies are planning another round of sternly worded letters.
Marches on Supreme Court. Marches on red Capitols. Marches on Congressional reds. Never leave them alone.
WWIII will be fought here at home.
Because we have a housing shortage?
Yeah, I think that's all we have left
Yep. Let's go: generalstrikeus.com
Watch Winter on Fire on Netflix. Hundreds of Ukranians died to oust a Russian puppet.
General strike needed.
Tree of liberty getting awfully thirsty
The left needs to arm ourselves.
General strike
It is up to us. "Our senators should do (x)" will not get us out of this.
Airdropping into Congress with a reminder that we're all in this together. It's time to end this.
general strike when
Any calls for violence at all are ill-formed and will reasonably be seen as accelerationists, or agents placing bait. Nonviolently: At this rate, my guess is — — #April19 — Day of 👊 🕯️ 🔥 Action — #May1 — #GeneralStrike ⚡️ Everything else just depends..
There is another way
We literally have a second amendment designed for moments like this and people are acting like it doesn't exist.
Protests? Somehow I doubt if daily protests in all 50 states would be sufficient. We’re beyond protesting to effect any kind of change.
General Strike is a form of protest, but also a form of direct action.
Yes! The American People have ALL the power. It will only take 12 million citizens on the streets to send these traitorous morons on the first flight to Moscow. www.bbc.com/future/artic...
That or a violent coup.
#WagePeace
my belief in on street protests is waning badly. The courts mean nothing, congress means nothing. the only thing that is left is the hope that the military take their obligation seriously, to uphold and defend the constitution. No one else is.
Trump is not going to go quietly - or probably at all.
"Every other mechanism for stopping despotism has failed." We've haven't even had a large strike, much less a general one. That's like maybe step two in a long series of steps that have a chance of having a meaningful impact.
The strike is literally the mechanism he's talking about using because it's effective.
