@giladedelman.bsky.social, the President is subject to constitutional and other legal limits. When he exceeds those limits (e.g., by unilaterally closing agencies created by statute), you can't simply say it's the consequence of democracy. It's contrary to the constitutional order of our democracy.

Just a message of support… Are you right in your opinion? I honestly don’t know, but it is one opinion to find the best strategy agains an autocrat… Very disappointed that you get such hate from people that share the same goal and only differ on the best strategy. Divide and conquer :(

But you could just say the rule of law is a value and that's determined by democracy 🤷‍♂️ It's a bad argument. It's also untrue. Values and perceptions affect voting, but the result doesn't determine values. The president isn't even elected by the majority.

And they technically only named part of the gulf -- not the whole thing. But everyone is acting like it's the whole thing. This article does too. It's weird. Also, resisting this would be a very small battle and not detract from others. One could argue we should overwhelm them with battles.
