I dont disagree; trans rights are human rights. Democrats ARE the left, whether the left wants to be included or not. There is no "leftist party." The Democrats include the far left, the center left and what we would probably consider Blue Dog Democrats.
If Democrats ARE the left, why won’t they endorse the candidate who won a democratic primary? And why would they throw trans people under the bus for perceived electoral advantage? Come on, man.
Because I think you are talking primarily about the DNC and not Democrats as a voting block. I am talking Democrats in the collective power of the voting base, not the few at the top who really need to go. Which Democrats are anti-trans?
Im talking about the party. And the DNC (and their donors) run the party.
This is where I think a Pritzker will come in handy as he doesn't need DNC backing. However, I think we need to replace the leaders of the DNC by making it clear that the direction they want is NOT what the majority of the party wants. And we need to convince the donors of that, too.
I think the whole party is rotten and should be abandoned.
I do have a problem with what I call the alt left. The ones who bite at the heels of democrats who don’t always agree with every little thing they think is hip.
