Ah, I got the Jake from State Farm joke but not the mayhem one, thank you. It really was weird (and also a huge laugh line when I saw it)

At best, it's an above average Law & Order episode trapped inside the world's corniest hype reel for NYC.
The final scene of Highest 2 Lowest is so out of left field that describing it isn’t even a spoiler open.substack.com/pub/vinceman...
Asking Spike Lee not to make love letters to NYC is like asking Michael Bay not to use egregious explosions or corny one-liners, or asking Tarantino to not make yet another ham-fisted exploitation cosplay flick that ends in a Mexican standoff, because he doesn’t know how to write proper endings.
Ok but if Iron Man can call a Fat Thor "Lebowski" after killing the guy who played Lebowski in the first movie, Spike Lee can do whatever he wants
What this review presupposes is: that was stupid too
I will probably see this movie as many times as Ant Man 3
