If I were a Dem in Mississippi I would sell and move out. Because their crops will be rotting in the field soon and they will look for a new group to 'criminalize.' Because they will need slaves for the fields.
Not everyone can move. A lot of people will *if they can* but that's not a solution. Of course the real solution is "don't elect fascists" but here we are.
Yeah, it's been clear to me for a while that this is where this was all going. There's a not-insignificant number of end-stage capitalists completely onboard with slavery, and a not-insignificant number of ex-slave states who still think they were on the right side of that fight. 😕

It's unbelievable almost, but I have friends who grew up in the South who tell me it's the worst kept secret in pockets of that region, especially among rich people who have family stretching back to that time.
I think folks in the north are very unaware of this, too
I admit, I was shocked when a friend told me this. She said it wasn't uncommon "among the like-minded" to lament this kind of thing behind closed doors. She grew up wealthy in the South and meant family, country club members, etc. They 100% thing the "wrong side" won & "the South will rise again."
