Sad cupcake story, cont’d So today, I’m determined to support small businesses: a new-to-me coffee shop (which turns out has excellent chai!) and a bakery with a wondrous cupcake selection. I was gonna get FOUR cupcakes and taste-test them with hubby to find the best.

But it turns out Four Cupcake Store is closed on Sundays. :( So we found an alternate bakery but they just had chocolate and vanilla. Ok, vanilla cupcake it is! FRIENDS. This cupcake was SO BAD. I threw it away. Not a thing I do with cupcakes.I had Big Feelings. Sad cupcake looks so good but NO

By this time, all the bakeries are closed. Adult Quinnlets assist with bakery options in city. All closed. But I’m determined to not let Trump take cupcake, even if I have to go corporate. So… tiny grocery store cupcake it is! (And free chai from Starbucks for bday)

I’m not sure the moral here. Get spite cupcakes, if you must? Plan ahead so you’re not cupcakeless on your birthday? This feels like the world the corpos want, you trapped in their system, so I’m even more determined to step outside capitalism when I can. And take the joy even if it’s imperfect.
