I play flight sims some. The consensus is X-Plane for accurate planes, Microsoft for Sightseeing (get it on steam). To get started you really only need a game controller or a Joystick. Flight controls for sims are a total rabbit hole, the cheap stuff is mostly junk. r/hotas has a list.
