I second.
I second.
But my religion! One can not exercise any beliefs by killing their children. Yet, here we are.
That came off as snotty...my apologies, it was not my intention.
A gentle reminder that Christian churches demand AND receive an exemption from reporting child abuse, up to and including sexual abuse. Recently reconfirmed by the Arizona state Supreme Court. The "sanctity" of the confessional must be preserved and protected They pay tithes for the privilege
The law varies from state to state. It's not just Christian churches but of all leaders of faith. Laws have been changing on this issue and have even changed from what is stated in this link. Be informed www.dea.gov/sites/defaul...
I am "informed enough to know that no "faith" deserves the right to abuse children under the cover of "faith", when I hear the religious community demand these "exemptions" from law be removed from ALL "faiths", I will respect your point. If only it were not based entirely on the imagination of man.
Also no one, man, woman, faithful, atheist has the right to abuse a child.
But alas...the "faithful" do have the right to do it...and hide it...by the laws of man. I have yet to see any atheists on the court steps demanding such. Nor on my doorstep preaching their family values, while questioning mine for not including their imaginary diety. Faith..is just that.
I was just trying to say i know of children put under DPS due to clergy reporting. I've worked in child health care for over 40 years and I have seen changes for the positive in reporting.
My apologies, I do tend to come off as an antagonist against "faith based religion". Because frankly, I am. But I don't mean it as a personal attack. This sanctity of the confessional bit..is nauseating. Let's be honest, it is the sanctity of money, the love of which is "the root of all evil" ?
1/2 I see a different side where the churches in my community run the food pantries, clothing drives, screening clinics, children/teens supervised activities, community gardens etc. Not all organized religion is bad.
And in exchange for their "good works" ? I was a ward of the state of California from 1 1/2 to the day I ran away at 16, 19 homes in that short time. I will state this: The "good Christians" who considered it their "duty" were the absolute worst. I have had my fill of God's love...it leaves scars.
I'm truly sorry for your poor start at life. I was emotionally abused by my birth mother. I was lucky to find mentors that helped me build strength from disparity. I'm sorry you weren't as lucky.
I fixed my problem by understanding this...it doesn't matter what they say..it matters what they did and continue to do and lie about. Some people need a carrot and stick. Good people don't.
2/2 This country needs to stop labeling people: faith; red; blue; sexual orientation; race etc. I truly believe that's what has gotten us into this mess. If we could just fight together for a common cause. Look at after 9/11. People came together and were kinder.
Labeling people..? May I suggest reading a little Christian history without sounding offensive ?
I've read much Christian history written by apologetics to agnostic. I'm speaking of our current situation in this country. Perhaps if we try treating each other as people not labels...
Religion... letting adults fk kids and letting adults kill kids when they could easily prevent it. Religion is a plague
Amen
lol 😆
Only exception if if there's a legitimate medical reason for them not to be vaccinated
