There are some…influencers, maybe? On this ferry. They are doing a circuit of the decks, filming each other looking pensively at the water for a few seconds and then moving on. Really drives home how manufactured a lot of content is. Here. Enjoy these clouds that look like clumps of oatmeal
Me, on the way to the dentist last year: - Zipping down the road - Pass small field full of bright red poppy flowers - It's sandwiched between lanes of busy traffic - At least 3 girlies in flowy dresses taking selfies (Contorting weirdly / trying not to spoil the "nature" aesthetic w cars 😅)
I always wonder what they are actually seeing. Probably not much: they are too busy staging it.

It’s not about the beauty, it’s not about the joy, it’s not about the moment. I find it all so distasteful, frankly. How’s my hair? Does the light catch my eyes. Is my flowy dress flowing? How about my just-filled 👄? So sad!
It's incredibly sad that a large portion of human's first instinct is no longer to just enjoy something beautiful
I was trying to get vacation photos of my train trip a few years ago and I couldn’t get anything because everyone was rushing me to get on with the next thing. I don’t understand how influencers are able to set up whole video recording equipment for their stuff when I barely had time to eat my lunch
I’ve observed influencers in the wild… their behavior never fails to look ridiculous

Until the 90s, those ferries (and others where the bridge now is) were the only way on/off PEI. Summer life on the island had a sort of heartbeat to it, with a new little pulse of tourists rolling into town every hour or two from each crossing.
