Well from my perspective the War on Terror happened and everybody decided to start sucking off the troops while they were actively committing war crimes. I don’t think it would prevent what is happening now, but more Democrats need to prepare for the reality of a lawless hostile occupying army.

I don’t know where this whole turn happened exactly, but I’m guessing it was around when I disrespected the troops or pointed out that torture is very much a war crime. The knee jerk defense of an institution with an authoritarian right wing culture is the problem I’m pointing to.
