organic apples are often bumpy, speckled, & don’t look like they’re on steroids like grocery store apples often do. they’re not instagram-worthy 🌱 but they taste amazing, and i have a million beneficial birds & bugs in my yard every day b/c i chose to coexist w/them > having instagram apples ☺️

a pile of apples from the tall apple tree that are a blend of red and green. they’re in a box a turquoise plastic laundry basket full of bright green apples that have some spots on them. basket is sitting on brown brick patio floor with the corner of a red and orange patterned rug in the right bottom corner very spotted red apples with some green on some of them. they’re from my oldest tree, so they have a lot of imperfections, and will be mostly used for cider/juice as i need to cut parts from some of them

also, if you’re in the pittsburgh area and you’re ok with imperfect apples for pies and applesauce? please let me know!

My philosophy is: if the bugs and birds and pollinators can eat it, I can too. Superficially pretty, tasteless produce is no use to me.
