and you’ve got some crazy heat coming, so def check the battery acid (which oil change mechanics don’t check)! it always looks like there’s full water in those little vestibules, but it’s an optical illusion and then you find you need a full _cup_ of distilled water in there
my car is 2009 & has a computer that is light-years behind cars even 5 yrs younger, but she _will_ “absolutely not” me & just refuse to turn on when she’s feeling poorly, & i am soooo grateful for that my mom’s 2015 van will shout & blink if there’s even a 1 lb less of tire pressure than it wants

the battery acid level, solved by adding distilled water, was sth i always dealt w/in FL, but didn’t expect here. that said, june/july were HOT. the precipitously low oil was that i got busy & straight up forgot for first time ever to check/get my oil changed just need to get 1 more yr out of her
my car had ++ repairs (she is very matronly) earlier this summer to pass inspection, but i’ve had 2 giant “oh crap” scares since & both were my fault: low water in battery in july, & this latest one: running the oil down to _dregs_ caught in time thankfully check ur fluids/maintenance dates!

got 3 gallons of juice and these are apparently bewitched apples because the juice tastes like i added a hint of cinnamon and brown sugar when i haven’t,, ? wondering if i should just can the juice as is b/c i’ll probs lose those notes in the fermentation process 🤔

it completely dries up by the end of the day, as it’s maybe 5 cm, tops, of water. we’re also at 35% humidity at the moment, too, so putting it in the sun all day evaporates it by dusk. i just add 1/4 cup every morning to refill. 😊
it’s super nice out, but also really dry, so if you want to keep your pollinator buddies happy, stick a plate with pebbles/gravel (to perch on) in it and fill it just up to the pebble line with water for them to have a lil’ drink putting it in a sunny spot makes it more visible to them as well! 🌱

Light showers & a few isolated thunderstorms are expected tomorrow afternoon/evening with a weak cold front. Don't expect much in the way of rainfall, though. Most locations will see less than a quarter inch, & some places (especially south of PGH) may see little to no rain.

organic apples are often bumpy, speckled, & don’t look like they’re on steroids like grocery store apples often do. they’re not instagram-worthy 🌱 but they taste amazing, and i have a million beneficial birds & bugs in my yard every day b/c i chose to coexist w/them > having instagram apples ☺️
it’s like a MUCH less whimsical version of mario kart lol thankfully, i am very familiar with the area and its challenges, but there’s still literally _always_ one almost-accident on every trip, whether it’s a random street-crosser, or a delivery van hard-braking in the middle of Forbes 😅

we lucked out and got a strong early season cold front. daytime low to high 70’s and 50’s at night for next 14 days i slept the whole night last night—fist time since the beginning of june i think (i had windows open & there was no AC cycling on off all night in the laundry room next to my room)
the upside of this is that you probably have a lifetime of good glasses habits. i lose, scratch, forget, or break at least one pair a year 😣

my working theory is lots of us from the south are used to steady pressure day-to-day, & when storms form rapidly & we get hit w/that big pressure drop, our bodies/brains get zonked. northern ppl who live w/more frequent low pressure systems (cold fronts) feel it ++ when it rises unusually high 🤔
after dropping decently low yesterday, the barometric pressure is rising again, and quickly! iirc, i think you’re usually affected by rising pressure(?) (whereas dropping pressure is what gets me—i was _zonked_ yesterday afternoon!)
