My therapist told me that a lot of people he talks to are struggling with being in public these days because of overwhelming "is THAT person a Nazi?" and "does THAT person want to harm my loved ones?" thoughts. I get it. And for that reason I really don't wanna know what my neighbors think.

Just sayin': Even when Hitler/NSDAP was the only legal party to vote for, they never received as many as 50 million votes; Trump had over 77 million in the last election

Nice to know that the local island that literally no one lives on (it's hazardous to visit, and technically illegal to visit without a permit) is deep blue. (I suspect it's part of one of the nearby precincts)

Anytime I meet someone whose politics aren’t extremely self evident such as at a work conference, or parents of my kids’ friends, I’m terrified to find out who they voted for, for exactly this reason.

You might be pleasantly surprised too. We moved here in 2016, and our precinct was essentially a toss-up between Trump and Clinton. In 2020 and 2024 it's moved left a bit, such that Biden and Harris both won by about 9%.

I travel around the country for work. Often wander into a random bar to have some snacks or a beer after a long day. I often wonder if it's secretly a right wing bar.
