I watched football in 1998 in an Iola hotel while my brother went to one of the last Kansas drive-in movies. Derrick Thomas had six sacks that night. One of my family memories. Bless you.

Was that still when you had to be 100 miles away from KC to see the game? My folks used to own the motel on the north side of Iola and people would drive down for it.

Might have been. We were coming back from KC—tickets were impossible to come by for season openers then—and I insisted on watching the game. Such a great defense in the 90s.
