I noticed there are a lot of people in the comments telling me to delete Facebook, but I am an organizer and I live in a tiny rural town. Rural organizing happens on Facebook because that’s where the folks are.

As a community organizer you can help change that. Direct folks to websites or exchanges that don’t involve Facebook. Sure it might be troublesome but I personally am abandoning Facebook wherever possible. I might check it once per week but will go back to email, Craigslist and real job boards

I’m also rural so I get it. I had to leave because of the endless spam of not dressed young women. I miss my alerts, grapevine and weather. It’s hard to find other sources with no newspaper or local radio.

I’m seven chapters into this book and I am now able to share a comparison of Mark Zuckerberg’s management style with Musk & Trump’s management styles. They are all psychopaths. Irrational, acquisitive, arrogant, obscenely wealthy, narcissistic, and careless people who don’t care for others.

I just finished the book "Careless People." In a way, I was stunned, but not surprised by what I learned. I didn't understand the depth of connection between the Trump campaign & Facebook when I left the platform. This book provides details. We should all be alarmed by what it reveals, IMO.

I stay on FB for exactly 2 reasons: because my 79-year old mother uses it and because living in Texas, so many friends and neighbors are “cultural” republicans. If I post on FB, some of them engage with me and we can actually discuss issues in a constructive manner. That is still important.

I logged into facebook yesterday to see a strange notification: FB telling me it decided to keep HCR's post up. It said I had reported her. I did not. Reporting is not something you do by accident. It's a process, with questions. (Nor was I "hacked.") Am I the only one who got this notification?

Maybe some internal hijacking. I felt awful when I saw that notification, thinking I had done it by mistake. But that's impossible -- there are steps. The timestamp on my supposed report is the same time as their response/verdict -- simultaneous. Yes, very sketchy.
