My neighbor was a high school English teacher (suburb of KC MO). She told me how she taught her students about socialism and America turning into Venezuela if they voted for Bernie Sanders in 2020. I then proceeded to gently advise her about socialism.... 🤪

My cross-hall teaching colleague openly recruits for his fundamentalist youth group. Prayers are offered before staff meals during PD (I arrive late to meals). A sub left my class to go pray in the hall with a student from another class. All these damn liberals.

When folks talk about "liberal professors", I think about our hiring database. We've got over 700 applicants this year (everybody applies everywhere) and I doubt more than 50-75 are from the US. There's a good chance that *none* are MAGA. Yet they complain that none of them get hired.

I taught for 30 years. I know for a fact that not every teacher was liberal then. I retired in 2010. I hope today’s public school teachers have wised up with MAGA vouchers and the accusations of “indoctrination “ by right wingers.
