I love this! We have irises that my FIL gave us when we moved into our house 28 years ago. He got them from a neighbor (Mr. Zisk). Every time they bloom I say something like “Mr. Zisk’s irises are blooming.” I love gardening it forward!🪴

We’ve had our iris bulbs so long, the flowers have mixed colors. The purple or yellow is only a solid color on the flowers that are in completely separate beds.

Divide them in the fall, every three years is recommended. You can cut back the foliage or let it grow all year round as far as I know
