This is not good. State trooper cars should be highly visible and marked. It’s not safe to have unmarked or low visibility vehicles pulling people over, especially in the age of ICE kidnappings. www.kctv5.com/2025/05/09/c...

Ghost markings would encourage any bad guys to attempt to pull over unsuspecting people. Imagine being a woman alone at night encountering an unmarked car.
Agreed. ICE a problem, yes. But what about also not knowing if it is even a real officer?
I use Google maps that alerts me to hidden cops and speed traps.
I never thought about traveling to MO before, now, it's definitely off the list.
Try living in this godforsaken state. Moving soon to a Blue state. It's getting worse every single day.
MA, CT, and NH are all pretty cool and MA has Medical and Robotics tech(DOD stuff that works), MA also has maritime tech CT is the headquarters of United Technologies (the helicopter guys), Electric Boat, and a load of corporate headquarters. WWE Hq. in Stamford NH has tech stuff...
I'm thinking Montréal, and I live in MA. Trump and his little band of fascist goons are making the USA a bad place to be.
Absolutely not any law enforcement agency that does not show up and properly marked vehicles and a tire will be considered enemies. Those ice agents are not real agents they are goons of proud boys both keepers and other right wing extremists groups and we will be targeting them. Law enforcement
Needs to stay out of our way since they won't do their jobs against them we will. Arm up prepare we are at civil war now
Secret police growing exponentially!
Predatory behavior.
I’m not pulling over for anyone in a car that is not clearly marked as a police vehicle. I’ll keep driving until I get to a police station. There are too many women abducted and killed by people pretending to be police.
Exactly. When you can’t tell the difference between an official and legal member of law enforcement and an official law enforcement vehicle, the opportunity for opportunistic copycats to terrorize Americans…not to mention the obvious problems. #WarOnWomen
We already have this mess in Florida. Sheriff and police departments as well.
Exactly 👍

When the pro-leader paramilitary and the official police and military intermingle, the end has come. On Tyranny @timothysnyder.bsky.social
Cops won't walk our neighborhoods. They aren't known to the community in person. LEO/ICE/FBI are renditioning people inside of America...and the MO Highway Patrol wants to go stealth.. conditions are being laid for a major incident.
Serial rapists and killers will take advantage of this tactic to prey on victims.
They drive Dodge chargers in Jersey already and have been for a while. I thought that was everywhere
The problem is the ghost graphics
These are completely unmarked too. It’s entrapment
From a traffic safety standpoint, an obvious police vehicle tends to make other drivers drive closer to the speed limit, observe traffic lights and do all the other things that keep people safer.
They want the public to be frightened. That is protecting. That isn't serving. That isn't governing.
Road pirates.
Human traffickers use unmarked cars and masks on their faces.
The fascist structures that have been set up in just these first four months will take decades—generations, even—to dismantle. And generations more to rebuild from what remains. This is incredibly bad. Look at every dystopian sci-fi film/novel ever made. That's where the U.S. is headed.
Not to mention, it’s extremely dangerous for women. Women have to be on guard at all times. Bad cops taking advantage of their positions to harm women. Bad men who are not cops wanting to harm women. It’s cowardice and creepy.
I'm in AR and was just bitching about this after I saw one pulling over a driver the other day. I had no clue it was police until I drove past and saw the same color graphics as car blending in. This makes citizens' lives unsafe for many reasons🤬🔥
My solution? Take Missouri off the list of approved places to travel or spend money.
Can’t have fascism without a surveillance and police state.
Bingo!
I have seen these here in Utah, we have white police cars with what looks like reflective "holographic" looking decals. At first I thought I was seeing things but here we are.
They want incognito
Because Missouri citizens are the enemy?
We have low visibility police cars in our county. One pulled out around a mail carrier truck into my lane, I beeped my horn as a WTH gesture. 4 miles later the deputy pulled me over and asked why I beeped at him. I told him what he did was dangerous. He laughed 1/2
Asked for my ID etc. which I gave him. He came back handed me my documents, got in his car and drove off. The shithead.
Making it easier for women to get assaulted every day.
Everything they're doing is going to create more issues for law officials that aren't pieces of s**t. And more MAGA nuts will be impersonating officers to intimidate/harm people. I don't carry but it's about to be CCW time.
More masked death squad stuff
I keep wondering about stand your ground laws with this and masking by ICE. SWAT teams have the area cleared out for them and have regular uniformed support officers and warrants. A goon tornado of Ethnic Cleansing along about F3 by now. This is from Feb 1st open.substack.com/pub/noelkeit...
For decades, police unions have argued for higher pay and benefits because of the danger of their jobs. If they do not oppose "ghost markings" - which will Increase the danger of their jobs, taxpayers will know those arguments were just a con.
This is insanely dangerous
It's just a matter of time before it's open season on them
It's not great even BEFORE these daysn
Yikes!
A clearly marked patrol car will slow down cars for a mile up and down the highway. It’s not about safety, it’s about profit and quotas. They don’t care how dangerous it is.
Slow down, turn on your blinkers, call 911, and asked for a marked vehicle. Even if you pull into a well lit public space, you really don't know who is in that car.
Highly visible and marked--people do not need to be terrorized. www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...
Nothing is good anymore. Maybe it never was. 😔
What an f-ing police state you're living in. In Germany police cars are extra visible so that Germans in need of help can see them easier.
Yep. Arm our police with military weapons. They really should update the police 👮 emoji. Cops have not looked like that for decades here. A lot of departments use civil asset forfeiture impounded vehicles for cop cars here now
Gotta remember, our police force evolved from “slave catchers” — different agenda.
That's across Europe including the EU. 🇮🇪🇪🇺
Seems to me that they stopped referring to them as police and started calling them law enforcement (strong emphasis on the enforcement part) around the same time they were getting kitted out like our military.
Most of them are fat as Hell and couldn’t catch a criminal on foot if their lives depended it. I think if your job is to protect me, you should keep yourself in good physical condition like active duty military. But, again, it really isn’t about protecting and serving us. They prey on us.
In the US, police officers drive by women who have flat tires on the highway and do not bother to help them. They sit on the side of the highway with radar guns to catch us speeding. Then, the judges demand we pay outrageous fines when we go to court. It’s about making money, not serving the public.
That's not the function police serve in the states, unfortunately.
“Serve and protect” is a PR slogan; not a vow.
Exactly… they’re fascists and the more red the state, the more awful they are.
There are fewer of them I. Oregon. Though.
The cops in Portland Oregon are for more militant than Columbus Ohio. Although Columbus is trying to catch up.
Nope & you can look at all the cop gangs just in SoCal as an example. Or the rendition black sites in Chicago. Or the blatant corruption in NYC. The list goes on and on
Copaganda.
that's not law enforcement - that's a road pirate.
Jess, do you know if there is a list or vetting system for grabbing people off the streets?
I usually know why I'm being pulled over. If I don't then they'll have to work for it
The stars of NC and VA already use them.
When I was a kid in California there was a serial killer pulling women over in a fake unmarked police cars and killing them. Unmarked cars were not allowed after that. I don’t know if that’s still the case there, but it should be. Unmarked cars are unsafe, if one tries to stop you call 911.
Hillside stranglers?
I'm not pulling over for an unmarked car. It could be a car full of gang bangers, like ICE.
This is dangerous and will assist criminals. A few months ago, a friend had an unmarked car with emergency lights pull her over. She had some experience working with cops & realized before the man got to her car door that he was a fraud. Fortunately she took off and got away safely.
She was smart. You can buy those lights on Amazon
At this point, they'll have to follow me to the local police station. I'm not pulling over for this shit.
You operate in the dark because you don't want others to see.
#onlyicebitcheswearmasks
If you think the prevailing purpose of (most) police these days is still to "protect and to serve," just ask yourself why officers would want to make themselves less visible to people needing protection and service. Hint: When everyday police become ambush predators, their motto has changed.
Bingo!
If you get pulled over by an unmarked car, call 911 and make them identify the police officer and the stop
This is good. 911, Hi, I’m getting pulled over by an unmarked car. Help!
My dad was in law enforcement. He told me that.
Good to know. It makes me feel prepared. Share all the tips, please.
You and your dad are correct. Even unmarked cars show up on the dispatch system. They can identify any and all LE in their dispatch area. In addition, if it’s NOT someone in their system, they can dispatch an officer immediately.
It’s exactly what I’d do and find the brightest well lit truck stop too. If you’re going to be unmarked I’m going to force safety. They might get mad but when they get asked by dispatch they start to understand. If can buy lights so can someone else.
Also criminal importers can rape women and commit crimes pretending to be law enforcement
Every pedophile in the nation can now get away with kidnapping too as long as they look like ICE. Let that sink in.
as a women, i’d be afraid to stop for any unmarked car
Missouri loves misery.
This is terrible. 😡
If we don’t say NO, it’ll be a complete military state for all of US.
They have been deployed in Collin County, TX for many years. Always wondered if it was legal....
Rockwall certainly will be jealous, and won’t be far behind. Before I move out of there, I think we spent a whole bunch of money on a tank. Fucking Rockwall! A tank?!
“Moved” 👆
I’ve recently seen more unmarked black leo vehicles in my neighborhood. It’s freaky.
One step closer to full blown jack-booted MAGA Nazi Gestapo.
Can we all say, Police State???
Well, that way, they can't be hailed down in a real emergency, right?
I noticed one of my county cop trucks with the graphics extraordinarily light. I guess this is the new rage among them. It was a white p/up truck. I live in a quite small rural county (very red) in Virginia.
Saw this just last Monday in Westbrook, Maine! Didn’t like it, didn’t like it at all!
They’re itching to get shot
I’ve seen those ghost decals on police cars.
It’s like they’re soldiers in an occupying army and we’re the enemy.
We have these in Northern Michigan. So much worse at night.
Why would the police be afraid of visibly identifying themselves?
Our small Mo town already has 2
I would not pull over on the open highway for an unmarked vehicle.
www.fox13news.com/news/fake-po...
Cage that sick fuck. Until he is not breathing anymore.
I’ve seen this, or something similar, on some of the Orange County Sheriff’s vehicles here in Florida. You don’t see the markings until you’re right on top of them.
As a woman, if I’m driving alone, ain’t no way I’m pulling over for an unmarked car. Nope
I don't know how far upward it has crept, but don't do that in Arkansas. If you're lucky, they'll crash you into a ditch, but sometimes it's a concrete barrier, off an embankment, into a structure, or oncoming traffic.
You have to call 911 if you’re not sure it’s a cop. If it is, they’ll contact the cop and help you find a place that’s safe. If it isn’t, they’ll send help. Pulling over for an unmarked car as a woman alone on a dark road? I’ll take my chances with the ditch.
Law enforcement wants citizens to live in fear.
Welcome to the American Gestapo, where basic rights are rapidly deteriorating
bsky.app/profile/lyni...
We have this in our little Pdx suburb, it's chilling and I would NEVER pull over for one
Police state
If your goal is safety you make it as visible as possible. Hunters use camouflage. Apparently they're hunting, not trying to improve safety.
Secret police gotta be secret
Police: Your job isn’t to be worse criminals than the criminals.
We've had unmarked patrol cars for decades in WA state. A WA state trooper got busted for putting Oregon plates on his unmarked patrol car. The Oregon plates even had expired tags.
I will not be getting out of my vehicle for a trooper car that is not easily identified.
Are they trying to provoke more shootings? What do they expect people to do when some random unmarked vehicle tries to run them off the road?
We have a bunch of these for some local law enforcement in Jersey. Not a fan
If memory serves, Missouri is a stand your ground state. This is not a good idea.
They're here now, at least locally
We pay for these cars, right?
Hawaii: Police Dept. allows private cars of cops to be used. Just add roof lights. "Saves Money." Shit.
Someone is going to get shot........
Will officers be wearing masks and covering their badges too?
Just saw one yesterday as I drove through the Texas panhandle.
Texas already does this and it is BS
Luckily they can easily be spotted by their license plate. As seen in the picture, MOHP vehicles have the license plate xxx-HP, where the xs are the squad vehicle number. Also look for hidden flashers in the windows.
Or a woman on a quiet road at night. I wouldn't pull over for that vehicle.
Are they begging to bring back the golden age of serial killers ffs
Good grief. Now Wheels Abbott will be doing that in TX. No despicable idea ever goes unnoticed by our PIECE OF SHIT Guv.
I’m waiting for the headline…breaking news these ‘legal thugs’ rolled up on the wrong one & now their families are starting Go Fund Me campaigns! It’s going to happen, so be prepared! No one has to do this job! They want to do this job! If you’re so well trained U are an asset in some other job, IMO
This has been a thing in other states for a while now. 😐
KKK Kops.
I’m not pulling over for any unmarked vehicle. Not with this insanity going on.
I’ve seen them in Dallas
Waiting for a Missouri motorist to stand his ground against what they believe is a carjacking.
And more citizens than cops carrying guns now. That's not too smart on their part.
Except Trump gave cops full immunity, and citizens don’t have that.
If they don't know they're cops in the first place. 🤷♀️
I'm glad Oregon has a law on the books specifically forbidding this. They won't be allowed to operate here with these vehicles.
Where is this law? I've seen Oregon State police, Portland police, Port of Portland police, Washington county deputies, Clackamas county deputies, Multnomah county deputies, and of course the feds all driving in Oregon in 'subdued' paint or unmarked vehicles.
Unmarked, yes. But MARKED vehicles are required to have contrasting markings.
I'm sorry, but I won't stop if the car isn't clearly marked, so the police will have to come and arrest me.
Oh, we already have those here in Washington. My local cops, it’s gray on gray and you can’t see it unless you’re right on top of it. I think Oregon is like that now too.
Those are US Marshall rides. Confronted one on a Fed agency property during my career. Blacked out windows, couldn't tell who they were till they dropped the window.
Saw a DPS cruiser with ghost graphics on I-35 north of San Antonio.
What woman would want to pull over when a man driving an unmarked car tries to force her off the road?
THIS!!!!!!!!!
The idea isn't to catch people breaking the law. The idea should be to deter them from doing so, and to encourage lawful behavior. I know, I know, traffic tickets are the way many PDs are partially funded, but it's totally wrong.
They’ll be issuing neck gaiters next.
Visibility is deterrence, and deterrence is good policing
“Harder to see markings” is an oxymoron.
Texas already has it. I hate it.
Yeah, it’s creepy. They should be illegal.
Our town has those type of vehicles, but state trooper vehicles are clearly marked.
Don’t pull over. Call 911 and report you are being harassed by an imposter with no markings.
Predators blend in.
Remember everyone: 2005 U.S. Supreme Court decision in a case involving police in Castle Rock, Colorado, in which the justices affirmed the principle that the police have no duty to protect members of the public.
See a pattern?
I avoid MO when traveling
If they don't touch the car, floor it
ACAB
They've been doing this in AZ for quite some time now. AZ LEOs at local levels also use a lot of unmarked vehicles.
It’s gonna look like a scene out of Grand theft auto if they try and pull me over! Drive straight to a highly visible busy place if this happens to you! Great way to get murdered by a freak!
I don't stop for unmarked vehicles. Any idiot can buy a blue/red light. When I was young, there were sexual assailnats using this method to harvest victims.
That’s dangerous for women in general.
The onceGOP does not care.
Already seeing these in Texas
Saw one of those at the protest I was at in Troy MI. Barely visible more than ten feet away. It was local police. The storm is coming!!
Fun fact: if you’re not here illegally, you have nothing to fear from ICE. State Troopers across the country have been using unmarked vehicles for years.
Civil disobedience requires white spray paint and a few graffiti artists to fix this.
This is more Gestapo shit
When I lived in GA, i think I recall that unmarked cars couldn't pull people over. Now that I've moved to the NC, I see unmarked cars pulling people over *all* the time—and they also don't even have gov't plates NOT good. LE vehicles (and LE themselves) should be clearly marked—what w/ ICE events
It's dangerous for anyone not knowing if it's LE attempting to pull them over or some impersonator.
They call them PBWs. Plain brown wrappers.
It looks like the SUVs The Guardians drive in The Handmaid's Tale 😳
If there’s a luggage rack or cargo bars, it’s not a state trooper. General rule of thumb, nothing’s 100% in life.
State Trooper? Or Storm Trooper.
It's unsafe for everyone, including the officers. If an unidentified, masked person breaks into my home or tries to pull me over in an unmarked vehicle, there is going to be a confrontation where both parties are in danger of being hurt or killed. Americans are heavily armed.
Funny how they've not gone after any of us armed folx. YET. And when they do, it's gonna be a bloodbath. The Purge will look like Disney in comparison.
Phoenix been doing it since 2016
It's the same here in California. I saw the new CHP Vehicles yesterday and you can barely make out the details. It looks like any white suv now.
Yep, local news said it was "to catch stunt drivers" before they do street shows tchyea, right
BOLO putty grey Durangos. 100 now and 100 more coming from the refit line in Sacramento.
I will not pull over for an unmarked car. FUCK no. Hunters wear bright orange so they’re visible to others. And they wear camo so their prey doesn’t spot them coming. So who are cops trying to sneak up on? Who are they protecting if not their community? Hm. 🧐
Makes it easier to traffic women and children. A skill they have been honing over the past 10 years.
Agree to disagree
If that isn't going to terrify a woman driving alone at night, I don't know what will.
It’s not war. Camouflage is not necessary. Camouflage is not safe. It’s a good way to panic someone with a weapon. They just want to speed & not be seen & recorded. A—holes.
Some day soon. ICE will attempt a Daylight abduction. And be Shot dead for their trouble. By a Registered Gun Owner. Legal Citizen. Then all HELL will break out. In trumpieland. 11600 Civilians shot dead. 47 law enforcement shot dead on active duty. 2024. 🇮🇪🇪🇺
Someone is going to die. Soon.
We have enough people cosplaying police and ICE agents. If they are there for the community, why hide? That's the feds M.O.
Agree but unfortunately this sort of subtle vehicle marking is not new in our world of extreme militarized policing. Rules of safety still apply: If one is uncertain who is pulling them over, when possible go to a *very public* safe space before complying with any *unidentifiable* vehicle.
I'm not pro-secret police by any means. But. This is nothing new. If you're not breaking the law you shouldn't have to worry about it. There are too many car thieves stealing cars and racing them into unsuspecting crowds and that needs to stop. I said this was going to happen when GTA emerged.
This is an objectively bad take
Objectively in your opinion.
Yes, and I think you’ll find very few people out there seeing secret police in masks snatching children off the streets in armed gangs and thinking “GTA did this slash if they were innocent they’d be fine!” Incredible leap of faith to assume the police are even still arresting based on criminality.
But my statement had nothing to do with secret police, it was about police using unmarked vehicles. They've been doing that as long as I have been driving. I don't like it but it's nothing new.
It isn’t new, but it also isn’t good that it’s ramping up. But like you said, I don’t like but it’s not new and nothing I can do about it (I added that last part for my own behalf)
It's already proven that they are no longer just using criminality. They ask for paperwork and surround the people and drag them away with caring about collateral damage.
I’m not pulling over for an unmarked car.
TRUMP HAVE MADE US POLICE INTO A GESTAPO ORGANISATION! TRUMP IS A FASCIST DICTATOR AND TRAITOR!
What if you're being pulled over at night on a dark Missouri two lane road? Or, hell, an interstate between cities? If I can't see you, I'm not pulling over.
To collect and serve the state. But hey when the world turns to shit and random kidnappers start using these same type lights at least the cops can do nothing . They already do it for ice so no big stretch
We already have them in Bucks County, PA. You can only see the markings from a certain angle. Agree that u. These dangerous times, it’s not gonna be easy knowing who’s who & what’s what.
If I had a dollar for every undercover vehicle in my state I’ve seen, I’d be loaded.. ford and jeep must have a contract with law enforcement here 🙄
many in office could have stopped this and chose not to. they're choosing not to every.single.day. when people outside our country said we have to help ourselves they meant it. here we are. what's the plan?
Secret policing.
Fear is the goal
That sets the stage for people to get tased and shot for “not complying” when an unmarked car tries to pull them over. Especially women, who have been told to make sure you’re somewhere safe when you’re pulled over and be suspicious of unmarked cars.
And rapes!
I agree. The police department in my small town is using ghost markings. It does not make us safer.
When I was a teenager, a girl got raped when what she thought was an unmarked police car pulled her over. (It was not a real police officer.) Because of that, my parents told me I should never pull over for an unmarked car, but drive straight to the police station.
Local municipalities all over the country have been using these ghost vehicles as well. Law enforcement will almost always vote republican. It has become less about upholding the rule of law and has become more of an arm of the republican party will. None of this will end well.
This happened near me and I highly doubt it’s a one off. He tried pulling a man over and asked another for ID in plain clothes and an unmarked vehicle. Just like some ICE agents have been seen in videos. Fortunately these men weren’t afraid to report the crime. www.tcpalm.com/story/news/c...
Especially when most police officers are just bad people!
No words.......
Texas has been doing this “ghost marking” on their LEO vehicles too. We have a bunch in D/FW and smaller surrounding towns.
And please don’t construe this as meant to insult you or the many good Texans who live under that regime there; But if Texas is doing it, that is exhibit A on why it is a bad police policy to follow.
They’ve started doing this in some of our small suburban towns around Chicago. It projects menace and power, not service and protection
😮 Which suburbs?
Ty Mo Republicans and Kehoe!!! YOU SUCK
They are doing the same thing in CA. Also seemed like a bad idea to me.
We've had plain suvs here in AZ for years now. They used to have the plates start with a G and have little antennas.
They have that here on the Western Slope of Colorado, I live near Parachute CO they have them Glenwood Springs does as well, in another time lime this was a type of entrapment.
The extortion States have been doing this every chance they can.
And I can imagine how many will think it's a carjacking situation and try to out run them. We'll see arrests, major accidents, injuries and deaths.
Police in the UK already have unmarked (black, or white) cars, with blue lights secreted behind the grill. I assume they're used by certain officers or for certain purposes. The vast majority as are in the photo.
That’s how it was in the States for the longest time. Still is, but the ratio of marked police to unmarked police has evened out considerably over the last 10 years. And it’s probably a direct correlation to the death of democratic values in this country.
