Most of that money went to Americans. Examples. Farmer is paid for grain that is donated. Companies paid for water filtration units that are then donated. These were important contracts for American business.

You're willing to throw all those contracts away and destroy the livelihood of American farmers and businesses as well as starve people in other countries and allow countries like China to get a foothold around the world because a very small amount isn't going to Americans. Got it.

I think the best chance the DNC has is to admit that *some* of the money in USAID didn't get used in the best way, but then highlight all the good USAID does and how it benefits the USA in the long run. Some of the more silly grants given out by USAID aren't worth defending, it'll hurt the cause

If these voters are ok with farmers and businesses in their communities losing their livelihoods without USAID contracts, letting people starve and die of untreated AIDs around the world, etc because every cent didnt go to an American, they were never going to vote Dem anyway.

If no one wants people to starve, then this miniscule amount in the budget isnt an issue for the DNC to worry about. Perhaps voters should worry about expensive military parades that could fund Americans on assistance.

A majority of Americans support the USA providing humanitarian assistance overseas when polled. They just don't vote that way sadly. Somehow we have to convince more Americans to vote for what they want and against what they don't want instead of sitting out our elections.
