I do not meet Medicaid requirements, but my healthcare premiums became affordable when Missouri expanded Medicaid. Medicaid cuts will impact my insurance. It will impact my rural hospital. It will impact my life. It’s all connected.
I do not meet Medicaid requirements, but my healthcare premiums became affordable when Missouri expanded Medicaid. Medicaid cuts will impact my insurance. It will impact my rural hospital. It will impact my life. It’s all connected.
The pain is the point. We're not worthy apparently
Yes it is all connected. You know it's not wise to make desperate people that are staring at death's door desperate because they have tendency to make the loudest noise in the most devastating ways. Because if you're going to die due to the actions like this you might as well take the bastards that
Are doing it to you right along with you.
This bill and its consequences are going to raise insurance premiums, deductibles and co-pays across the board EVEN if you have employer supplied insurance benefits. Everyone will pay more. And a lot of people are going to die or become ill when they lose (can't afford) coverage. F Trump.
As I work in healthcare it will impact my livelihood. A lot of my coworkers don't seem to understand that. They're too giddy over the thought of migrants being chased by alligators.
They're about 2 years from being hit with reality.
Won't take that long. A hospital in Nebraska is already closing because of the *anticipated* Medicaid cuts that will take place after the 2026 election.
I spoke to the wife of a friend in Lincoln, Nebraska. She thinks that the statement from the hospital is leftist propaganda. Even after I gave her the full statement issued by the hospital itself.
A mind marinated in Fox lies can never recover.
Wait a couple of years when it’s their friends, family, acquaintances or loved ones being chased by alligators. They’ll sing a different tune.
I dunno. After the apathy shown post J6 and post COVID, I doubt if maggots would care if Trump sacrificed their firstborn.
Services in rural Maine, often the Red, Paul Lepage parts of the state, are closing. People will drive a long way in Maine--a big state.
They shouldn't even be in healthcare, obviously they are not capable of compassion.
How could anyone get giddy over human beings being hunted down, dragged away, put in cages without food & water, etc. That is sickening!
Indeed and somehow their jobs are in healthcare!!!! wtf! 😳😶🌫️
What will happen?, I live in the uk. We have the nhs “for now”. Will the cuts be to drastic?
16-18 million Americans will lose their Medicaid. Hospitals will shut down because Medicaid is a major payor for healthcare. One in four nursing homes will cease to exist.
bsky.app/profile/blab...
I think one of trumps biggest faults, is that he completely fails to understand cause and effect in everything he does. Every decision is in a vacuum
Yes 😢😢😢🤬
SOCIAL SECURITY SCAM? Well, not a scam exactly but I got an email today that looks to be from the Social Security Administration and it says that they are so happy to be able to help seniors now that the Big Ugly Bill was signed. WHAT? SS cuts are not in the bill, right?
I didn't qualify either. But I did qualify for QMB. In 2021, 8.1 million enrolled in social security were getting QMB. another population that may be affected that no one talks about...
Yes the #ACA lowered rates across the country although the amounts varied according to the states and what their medicaid buyins are.
Right! But sadly some of their voters are goi g to have to lose limbs sight lives before they wake up and realize what they did that they are the reason papa is dead now they are the reason Gigi is dead it’s their fault. Can they live with that? Hopefully not that’s one less stupid vote.
Hate to mention, but I'm so insurance in NJ. I was working on an apartment complex in need of flood insurance. I was in hospitality up until 1m ago, so this is new, and I was reading how the cuts to NOAA & FEMA actually will significantly affect insurance premiums across the board. Be prepared!!
Everyone tried to tell everyone before everyone voted for the antichrist
Let your elected officials in Congress know and demand that they hold town halls to explain their (👍🏻 or 👎🏻?) votes re. the big ugly bill to their constituents who paid attention and will remember during the midterm elections. Good luck to you and to all of us.
They are just evil!
It’s all 🤬 UP!
WE are all connected. I’m sorry the cruelty has found you. We have a 1-1/2 years to reverse it because Republicans don’t want the cuts to affect the midterms. It seems we are always depending on the next election to save us, and that greatly worries me, but let’s make it happen. 💙👊🏻💙
And Medicare because of this will also go up in price! The billionaires bailout bill will affect us all, one way it the other!
60% of the people in nursing facilities, hospice, rehab facilities, and home care are on Medicaid. What will happen to them? Will they put them on the street if no one picks them up? And with 60% of the clients gone, how will the people who give them care make a living?
27 states you must as a relative take them in and care for them! Millions will find out!
And if they have no family, will it be line up the freezer trucks as they had to during Trump's mishandling of COVID?
Their care will be degraded. Many nursing homes will close I am guessing and either their families will have to house them or?!?! Streets?
Sorry to hear... may I suggest a different state?
You have my sympathy
IT IS FOR SURE.
The problem is the MAGA dummies who believe that it’s not connected. They still believe that it’s tied to the black man (Obamacare). Their racism runs DEEPER than their own healthcare. They won’t understand it until memaw and papaw are kicked out of the nursing home. It will be too late then. 🤷🏽♀️.
We’re heading into dark times.
absolutely. people (suddenly) without health insurance will still get sick and go to medical facilities. they won't be able to pay. to compensate, everyone else's health insurance costs will increase. (and that's why medicare expansion helped lower your health care costs, as I know you realize.)
Republicans do not care. They don’t care!
as you pointed out earlier… just wait until the Medicaid cuts happen and people can’t pay their medical bills at all. Hospitals and paying clients with insurance are going to absorb those costs-premiums will go up. Cutting medicaid is going to screw up health care for everyone.
The only folks who will get care without real struggle will be the rich ones
This is so frustrating. The media treats this like Medicaid is a handout to the poor. Medicaid is there to keep our hospitals financially solvent because they have to provide the service regardless of a person’s ability to pay.
Yes...and in light of being the only western "democracy" without universal healthcare... 😒
Healthcare Insurance Companies are unnecessary parasites
+ many of the problems with the NHS have happened due to the Tories picking away and the structure and salaries of NHS workers...I don't think Canada has these same problems & pretty sure Scandinavian countries don't either.
in UK people have the choice to go with their NHS provider or they can buy private insurance if they want to. It seems many of the richer people make this choice and do use the private insurance when the NHS falls short. Like having extensive wait times to see a doctor or get into hospital. But+
In the US, we pay double through taxes and health insurance premiums for our healthcare with poorer outcomes. By far most of our money and efforts go to making sure the insurance companies are healthy.
i agree, health insurance is a huge problem...but hospital costs are huge contributor to this money problem. For eg at a cancer center, one diagnostic mammogram for breast cancer can cost 30k. & even on medicare the copay is over 500$ for that study. Insane!
The prices are distorted because the system is out of whack. From a hospital's point of view, they must provide services regardless of a person's ability to pay. This means they provide many services that are never paid. The insurance companies refuse to pay or demand reduced prices on everything.
This means the hospital must project high retail prices for everything so they can maintain solvency
I don't think so. MD Anderson for eg has financial assistance program for patients who can't afford a bill. & other options for people who are uninsured. Also, very rich people come from abroad, like Saudis, for treatment & pay cash for everything.
I was trying to explain that to my dad but he wasn't getting it. We are going to be paying for people no matter what. Because people with no insurance will go to the ER instead of the doctor
This will probably kill many rural hospitals
I have a feeling a lot of people who voted for ~~gestures wildly~~ this are about to find this out the hard way. Nothing like having to drive an extra hour or two to reach medical care because the hospital that was nearby shut down.
Oh, don’t worry. They will find someone to blame that is not the GOP. Kay Cammack blamed Democrats because she couldn’t terminate her pregnancy in Florida. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...
Precious quote: "even though what I went through wasn’t an abortion." Oh, your doctor, insurance company, billing codes, etc. would all disagree with you there, as would the statute you helped pass.
"No, *I* wasn't one of those irresponsible sluts that gets abortions like they're manicures. Abortions are what bad women do. I am righteous and therefore fully qualified to determine what is appropriate for other people."
Much like some of our male legislators who complain about a woman getting 4 abortions in a week. Not certain how that works, but okay…
4 abortions in a week?!? 😶 Does she have a torso left?
Remembering when Rush Limbaugh and an all-male panel of politicians believed that women needed to take "the pill" each time (and only) when they were planning on sex. www.washingtonian.com/2021/02/17/n...
If you asked them, they wouldn't be certain how it works, either. Female bodies are mysterious, and a little scary.
what's interesting is the larger sample those who abort are actually women who already have kids: its such a false narrative when people cite this...
sorry. still waking up. false narrative when people push this- the teen thing.
When pressed, many of the people wishing the US had a higher birth rate get VERY uncomfortable when told that a lot of that decline is due to the falling TEEN birth rate. Of course, some of them also want to remove the age limit to marry. www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/...
Hey,how’s life treating you?
I do(or did) meet the Medicaid requirements barely, but when it’s taken away, I won’t be able to afford my meds.
And more uninsured = more people using hospital ERs for care and not being able to pay, which raises fees for all of us, ultimately increasing insurance premiums as well. We all pay more for worse outcomes. Rinse and repeat.
It will have a ripple effect if you have Medicare or Private insurance !
Jess, do millennials and fence voters in Missouri understand the cost of elder care will fall on them when their folks need it? Without Medicaid funds, every parent will bankrupt their kids at the end of life. I feel like most people in their 30’s thru 50’s have no idea how much elder care costs
Not enough people know about that ACA expansion and how many lives it’s saved. That disgusting bill is just pure evil.
Doctors who do their residence in rural areas, are often immigrants. There are a lot of headwinds for rural healthcare.
So, so many people do not know that this will affect them. Which is why their worst actions won’t kick in until after the midterms.
Don't we already have the most expensive healthcare in the world? Now it gets worse.
Rural hospital closures due to Medicaid funding cuts lead to a cascading economic and social crisis. This includes immediate job losses, collapse of local health access, economic decline, population loss, and erosion of education, infrastructure, and community well-being. 1/2
The consequences are far-reaching —impacting regional healthcare systems. 2/2
Exactly, everyone’s healthcare will go up
I have my medicare . But I use the V A here in San Antonio it's the best hospital in are the district
This is what my broken leg cost. Not including ambulance, follow ups, PT , medications. Almost a quarter million DOLLARS. Without Medicaid I would have been screwed.
I felt the dems did a huge disservice by not pointing out who people on private ins would 100% be affected by this, not just the lower class but the majority of us will suffer also.
Hammer Josh Hawley for being a chicken shit.
They just re-elected him after he proved he was a chicken shit on J6.
Assuming Americans decide to take back their country, perhaps we could have a conversation about right wing solutions for healthcare. The ACA was never going to work when everyone with a thieving hand can stick it in the profits pot. We elected Obama to get single payer, democrats gave us the ACA.
🥺
Yes. Even those of us who can afford our insurance and get a better price because of the ACA may still become uninsured. People will die, and the REPUBLICANS ARE FINE WITH IT. Please reflect on that in the next election, if we even have one. SHOW OUR DISGUST WITH THEM
The ACA protects everyone, not just marketplace users: no denial for pre-existing conditions, kids stay on parents’ plans till 26, no lifetime limits, and free preventive care. These rules apply to most private insurance plans too and we will lose them too it affects us all!
They don’t care. In fact they thrive in mass death to the population of nonwhite, not wealthy Americans whose humanity they don’t even acknowledge.
Everyone will have to pay more. Taking needy people off Medicaid means they will show up at the ER – and the ER is the least efficient way to treat most conditions. We will pay for that. And this is of course not even mentioning the abject cruelty of these despicable budget cuts.
When you think or you are dying without insurance, ER is rational humans backstop. Terrible policy we are engaging in as a nation.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=chFF...
Second the cuts hit, I will lose mine through my state. Can't afford to get insurance on my own. I am not abled enough to get a full time job (am going blind, got Type 2 diabetes, damage to my L3 to L5, and other health issues as well), so yeah, I won't last long.
That's what so many don't get. Let's take the corporate side for a moment: Less MC$= Fewer $ to hospitals, insurance companies(subsidies),more payouts by ins or corporate hospitals. 1/2
2/2They STILL owe a fiduciary duty to their shareholders. So: Services will be cut, premiums raised, costs increased, payouts limited And, eventually, patient dumping & refusal to take patients.
I feel badly for you. Living in a Red State will become increasingly untenable I predict.
Ppl do not see the entire picture before they vote that with time is a domino effect. They only follow their selfish emotions
Thanks goes to your Republican congressmen
The administration keeps saying that there is something for everyone in the OBBB, yes, more taxes and less services 🔥🤬
Yup.
Your politician do not represent you.....they represent the country club, private community set.....you represent the country set. You should be that representative. I will do my part.
I got a letter yesterday stating my marketplace plan will no longer be available as on 12.31.2025. Elections have consequences.
At least you realize you're being helped by Medicaid. A lot of people think they aren't on Medicaid. They're on Louisiana Xtra, or Alabama Plus or something like that. They are going to be devastated especially when the only hospital in 50 miles gets closed because they were dependent upon them.
Same 😢
Got it.🤣
Murkowski caved. Again.
Yes it is. But the GOP does not give a f'n damn about u or any of us. They just care about themselves.
Yes, it is all connected, except in one area, which is at the TOP. There are no civil servants or policy wonks left to make intelligent, critical decisions that protect Medicaid recipients. And there is a non functional, erratic, narcissist president in the Oval office.. What could go wrong? wrong.
Same!
AND 'PAYGO' cuts will cut MEDICARE by ~$500 billion too. "Balanced Budget" stuff Tax the frigging billionaires income AND wealth!! Note the date on this article-it's gotten worse since then www.bbc.com/news/blogs-e...
My adult son with epilepsy can only get health insurance through Obamacare. No private insurance company will cover his pre-existing condition. They are literally trying to kill us.
we need to stop this coup!
Absolutely, we are all going to be fucked.
Same! (in Colorado)
By design the cuts to Medicaid and SNAP don't take effect until after the midterms. But the ACA non-renewal will be a major hardship for a lot of people. Many will probably have to drop insurance coverage. And they will be voting against the Republicans if there are elections.
They want us to be desperately poor and unhealthy. They want us to suffer.
People who only have Medicaid may wind up with nothing. Some WILL die, yet you've framed this mostly about YOU. You want to be an elected official, which would make you a leader. Leaders put everyone else first.
You know that's not what she meant. She advocates for ALL citizens of Missouri, if you bother to read her posts. She is just pointing out that Medicaid cuts affect the whole system, not just its direct recipients. Please do better.
This is the thing. People are tired of talk from politicians that isn’t absolutely clear. Of others having to restate what was “really” meant. Anybody hoping to be elected must be absolutely dead on clear and truthful. And number one rule is as nurseq said. Never make it about yourself.
Her post says what it says. It came across my feed.
I'm worried about all ppl having access to healthcare, which is a basic human right. People will suffer, and some will die because the US has a for-profit system that allows ppl to get rich from the suffering of others. It's ethically bankrupt.
We've heard a fair amount about the millions of people who will be kicked off their health coverage. We've head far less about the millions more who will face staggering premium increases. As Jess is good at pointing out: it's even worse than you thought.
As a state official in CDPH: there's a minimum amount needed to cover operational expenses. When the cost is borne by fewer ppl than it once once, the amt increases per capita. As those ppl are unable to pay & drop out, costs rise again, & again. This leads to massive disparity we WERE fixing.
Healthcare is once again heading to only those who are financially well enough off to pay for it, which WILL harm and too often, kill those who can't. This is also the segment of the population this administration/ Heritage don't value and would like eliminated. It's NO accident.
Dickens called them the “surplus population”. It’s hard to square any pro-life credo with actively hoping many of the poor will just go ahead and die already.
They need & want the poor because those ppl must labor. They/ we are "wage slaves." It's the infirmed who can't work that they want gone. Note the attempted requirements to work for those receiving benefits. If that's enacted, a swath of humans will die.
I regulate skilled nursing facilities and see the most vulnerable Californians who can't turn in bed on their own. If their benefits are taken away, and there's no place to take care of them, they'll die.
As facilities can't cover operational expenses they'll close (including rural clinics and critical access hospitals), creating healthcare deserts which will kill off another swath of humans: the rural poor & infirmed. This is all by design.
Some ppl on low fixed incomes live rurally for cost containment. They'll be forced to move to a metropolitan area to be closer to community healthcare that serves the uninsured. Community systems will become MORE overwhelmed, have funding/ staffing/ resource issues. Guess what will happen.
My Mom wound up with dementia and needed that 24-hour care by the end. For many in the same boat, Medicaid is THE way the care gets paid for. What’s a nursing home supposed to do when the Medicaid money dries up?? Just roll the patients out to the curb and draw the shades?
There was a nursing home across the street from me. A few months ago - within a few days - all the patients were moved. Some went to other places. Others had to go to relatives. It is closed now. 100 beds gone just like that.
sorry about your mother. I'm sorry about what's happening to everyone.
42 CFR 483 indicates a SNF must provide services equally regardless of ability to pay, meaning poor ppl get the sane quality of care as rich ppl. However, CMS does allow patients to be discharged for non-payment BUT the discharge must be "safe and orderly" so...
Republicans: The poor should work their fingers to the bone, have a bunch of replacement babies, and die of old age in their 40s.
As an ethical humanist I struggle daily not to despair over the ability of some to be so devoid of decency. It's sociopathic.
You have until January 2027 to figure out an alternative if there is one. I am in the same position but not panicking or complaining…
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Our whole family works in our small business. We could afford health insurance with marketplace assistance under Obamacare. Probably not anymore.
Admiting it openly is the first step to realizing a greater iceberg of hate the 1% has for us all
Insurance cos know we don’t qualify for Medicaid, so they will jack up everyone’s rates and lower the services.
It is all connected. The actual # of people who will no longer be able to afford healthcare has most likely been underestimated.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=peud...
I have relatives on Medicaid and SNAP. Those kids are gonna lose coverage for sure. And guess what? One of their moms is here on a green card for the last 50 years. She’s afraid to go out these days. And we’re just 6 months in.
Sorry to hear about your healthcare. Rural hospitals are a lifeline. Wish I could be more optimistic. Next congress needs to not just restore but increase healthcare support. Peace and love.
And people who (mistakenly) believe they won’t touch Medicare will not be able to do much with it when their hospital closes.
Americans are already paying for Medicare for All and then some, it's just the Insurance companies are taking most of it in profits...
Grow some pounds of weed, I'll buy it
Hey, at least you get 3 YEARS to sweat it out until it happens. At least the billionares don't need to wait that long to have extra money for their 4th or 5th yacht.
Homelessness, healthcare, education, infrastructure are all policy decisions made by our elected representatives and the president, as enforced by our judiciary. This nation is an experiment in government by the consent of the governed. We must choose better political leaders. #VoteThemOut #Now!
ACA decimated. I am looking at $1200/monthly.
This is what people don’t get.
The Dems need to run on universal health care, period. I think when people feel the effects of these cuts, the public will get behind it.
It should be all connected to a one payer universal healthcare system this country so desperately deserves. It's time we join the rest of the free world and treat all people like they matter instead of capitalizing on their suffering. What a primitive culture.
You live in ruby red Missouri. Are you surprised you’re getting shafted by the GOP!
That is why I left MO 8 years ago
Trickle down economics?
Wondering how much my mom’s plan premiums will go up…
It will impact every American who has insurance. When people are forced to get healthcare in the ER we all pay for that through increased premiums.
Medicaid Expansion is probably the first thing they cut. Most blue states provide it. Trump hates blue states and apparently his own supporters that happen to live in blue states. Republicans have no common sense whatsoever.
Yep
Many more millions than just those directly approved for Medicaid as our poorest among us And then there are the reat of the middle class who have no Healthcare that nobody fights for at all?
Medicaid cuts will impact far beyond rural America, unfortunately nobody is talking about it.
Well said. I hope people are listening.
connecting the dots is not a strong suit of the mags base
Jess, you explained one of the “ripples in the pond,” effects of this appallingly cruel, ugly and dangerous legislation better than anything I’ve read elsewhere. Thank you.
We moved back to take over the small family farm. Things were tight but we were able to use my retirement until my man could get Medicare. He was on Medicaid for 2 years. It got us through. I defy anyone to say he wasn’t ‘working’ at that time. They can come scoop the 💩 or put up hay with him & see.
The loss of the ACA subsidies is going to be devastating to millions.
Too bad the people in your state don’t vote smartly…
The ripple effect of cruel ignorant policy changes will affect everyone eventually.
So sorry. For your situation and everyone else impacted negatively by this thoughtless and inhumane bill.😞🙏🏻❤️
800,000 Seniors could be tossed out of nursing homes. That becomes a families burden financially to care and pay for them. Even if you think your not effected boom you are.
I'm not sure I meet Medicaid requirements, either.
It WILL impact the WHOLE healthcare system!! Different states call it different names, it all comes from the same place! YES, some hospitals will close, & a few of those urgent care places too! It will get harder for ALL to get good, competent care! Bonus, we will have a harder time paying for it!
YES YES YES
Get a job, Jess.
💯
Medicaid is federal payment to Hospitals & Doctors and Drugstores. Medicare is the tax taken out of ur check (MEDEE) & put into a trust for ur health if ur elderly or disabled which is matched by FICA tax paid by ur employer. Government is stealing back their portion & giving it to millionaires!
Ugh. It was the same shit with raising the minimum. I was making $9 or 10/hr on an $8.25 minimum in my 20s and a short-term partner argued with me saying an increase wouldn’t affect me. The minimum wage here is almost $18 and is now tied to inflation. You can see why that relationship didn’t last.
I get medical care through the VA, but the bipartisan effort to privatize the VA, they send me to hospitals that will probably close.
Absolutely!! People who are not in this predicament do not understand. You either make you much or not enough. Your workplace won't offer health insurance unless you work the # of hours they require- but won't schedule you. Your healthcare premium is close to your rent payment.
They can’t take 1T out of the system without it effecting the whole system. Things will be cut and things will get yet more expensive.
Yep, same here in FL. I'm self-employed on a Marketplace plan and without the premium tax credits, I'll be uninsured
It'll be OK. We have a nice job picking lettuce for you to, you know, cover healthcare costs.
😵💫 But Bezos can pay for his next wedding. Good job!
It was always all connected Jess :((
Elections have consequences. Trump is crashing it all just because he can. How many folks have died in the Texas floods? Every American who voted for Trump has blood on their hands. From grandma in the kitchen to Bob the barber. You are all guilty!
But muh mythological hyperindividualism
It’s going to impact the lives of millions and the GOP voted for anyway. They all kissed the ring.
Same with us and my daughter and her entire family here in Nebraska. She works two jobs and he’s an independent contractor all on his own. My dad depends on the rural clinics and hospitals. Unfortunately he’s headed there now. 😞 This will gut us.
Josh Hawley knew it was gonna be terrible...but wait, that a$$hole voted for it anyway!! Why was he elected?!?
they all knew. everyone who voted to pass the bill is complicit in the coup.
Absolutely!
I’m sorry. It will get worse, hospitals will close.
I understand the Republican politicians claim that to get healthcare coverage you need to get a job. Does that mean there is now legislation being passed that requires all employers to provide total healthcare insurance coverage for all employees?
Coward Hawley doesn’t care.
The gop knows this. They don’t care. At all. About any of it.
Dotard Donald said we won't even notice the cuts. After all, we were stupid enough to re-elect him after Jan 06.
THIS IS NOT AMERICA!
His handlers want to bring america and the whole country to a grind
Tell jack schmitt that! He's boasting that he voted for the big pile of 💩 bill. Flooding political offices with phone calls is a waist of time. They don't want to know the truth
Drove through your beautiful state on a trip from Central Nebraska to Memphis this past week. Thought about all of the good you are doing for ALL people in Missouri.
So sorry
And with the expiration of the enhanced premium tax credits at the end of this year, ACA premiums will skyrocket even more for many many Americans
I finally qualify for Medicare in December. I follow Ed Wise on YouTube. About everything Medicare and Social Security he used to run one SSA offices according to Ed instead of a $5000 benefit for a type of coverage it’s gonna lower to 1K the GOP need to find out what medical bills feel like
Trump, in his first term, wanted to kill ACA because it was an Obama achievement. Trump will make ACA so financially prohibitive that many will loose their healthcare.
This isn't getting nearly enough play.
6 million are projected to drop off of individual coverage because health insurance will be unaffordable, once again.
Are you a millionaire or billionaire? Then you don’t matter.
The recently unemployed by Trump have no medical insurance without atrociously expensive monthly “tails” which without income, they can’t afford. The ACA market is also unaffordable for them because their income composed of savings and checking are not enough, leaving Medicaid if state expanded.
Same, in Texas. I make too much for assistance, but I don't make enough to pay for more than a doctor's visit with no additional testing. I can't afford insurance.
Many people are in positions like I am. My 5yo son is autistic, epileptic and has a genetic disorder. He needs many services besides doctors appointments and meds. Cutting Medicaid would be devastating to us. Private insurance barely covers all he needs.
But not until after the midterms!
ACA changes on Jan 1. Well before midterms.
I called boebert this morning, and just probably sealed off my ability to effectively communicate with her. It doesn’t work anyway, so I told her staff member she’s a white christian nationalist who shows no relationship to god, per her post about ‘’deportations are now on steroids!’’
Was just at the Dr's office in SWMO, one older man asked another old man. 'Do you think their serious about cutting Medicare/Medicaid? BTW the medical offices are overflowing, sounds like a lot of worried older people.
They won’t believe you.
In deed it is. Republicans are not continuing ACA subsidies. ACA premiums expected to rise by 66%
I am sorry. I hope you can keep your medical coverage somehow. The emergency department has to take you, if you live near one. St Joseph doesn't have one.
"We the People" are not going to take it!!! Resist, protest, file lawsuits, march!
Cutting people's health care, jacking up prices, appointing RFK Jr in charge of Health Services, and deliberately targeting school loans with caps all seem to be orchestrated to make people sick and cause death. bsky.app/profile/did:...
This is what people are not understanding- it’s not just Medicaid. It will affect private insurance too.
They want us to work for healthcare so they can further privatize it. I use to pay premiums to but now I don’t. That’s likely all going to be over now, also in Missouri.
and it totally sucks
💔🤬
What about those with preexisting conditions. They have been protected from being dropped from insurance companies. Now what?
💯
Pretty much everyone’s healthcare affected from these Republican fools
I hear Hawleys doing a press briefing tomorrow in ST. LOUIS… If anyone knows where I can find info on time and place, would greatly appreciate it!!!!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Here's what's worse. For people who can't afford to pay, without medicaid, the 20% that medicare does NOT cover there is no safety net. If you can't scrape up the 20% YOU CANNOT USE THE MEDICARE $$ YOU PUT INTO THE SYSTEM. Your Medicare is, thus, cut off. Great trick, huh?
Keep aggressively speaking out. Thank you.
😢😢
I worry the same for my daughter. She is a junior UC Long Beach. She isn't currently working, so she can focus on school. She is type 1 diabetic and must have insurance. I pay her premiums, which went down to $410/month through the affordable care act. I worry we won't be able to afford it now.
Sorry, no solution or money for affordable healthcare. But there is money for military parades and concentration camps. And Pete Hegseth’s makeup studio.
Yes. Driving people off Medicaid will make private health insurance more expensive.
The big connect is that they're doing this to you on purpose!!
It’s all connected. I wish everyone understood that the system is not transactional.
Hopefully more people will make better choices next election.
Many years ago before Obamacare came to be-- there were hospitals closing in rural areas. I remember even Palm Springs California-- posh as much of it is-- was being affected. This is a return to that time- exponential..
Same here in California.
Yes, it is.
Try explaining that to a maga voter and watch their head spin.
Same. I’m terrified.
Nurses are already getting laid off. For-profit nursing homes and rural hospitals aren’t waiting for the bottom to fall out to cut costs
Many people are too dumb to realize this
Jess- what is the history on this… we voted to expand it and then I thought the legislators wouldn’t put it into action.. and then what happened?
Got it-sorry… I knew there was some crap they tried to stop missouriindependent.com/2021/07/22/m... Missouri Supreme Court rules voter-approved Medicaid expansion is constitutional • Missouri Independent
Get all your medical done this year. After that, suffering, going bankrupt, or death are your only options for many including 1 in 25 in that state who are on Medicaid.
I've been trying to figure how to reduce my insurance costs without going into extreme debt. Right now I pay about $600 a month with a $750 deductible and 35% of cost out of pocket. I can't afford to keep even this. I'll forever be in debt just trying to stay alive.
Absolutely. People who are critically injured or ill will STILL go to hospitals…they will go to emergency rooms. And when Medicare/Medicaid benefits are not accessible for payment to those hospitals, they will STILL treat those people and eat the cost. Eventually that cost is passed to you.
However, before eating the complete cost, they will ensure you have been made destitute/life-long debt, paying with all you have plus an arm, and perhaps a leg.
And … these cuts will also affect areas where a lot of people are on Medicaid … and that’s not just rural. We all are going to suffer, except of course the filthy rich or politicians.
WE can make the politicians suffer, VOTE THEM OUT! 💢🌈☮️
I never thought mine would be. The co- pay. Wow. 130$. 100$. I paid 25$ last year.
Nothing to budget. Choices have to be made.
My healthcare will double since the affordable care insurance will no longer be subsidized.
My MOC refuses to release the numbers of constituents for and against the screw the people bill. I wonder why😼
Blame Trump
Blame Republicans. Trump is just the pimple on their collective asses.
I think at this point they can declassify it all, and no one will believe a word. I read what they declassified today. Trump’s name is there. But I guarantee no one will believe it or even see it. But, I can tell you whose name is not there… Joe Biden. 🙌
For sure!
I’m retired with a young family My kid’s part time job pushed us out of the exchange. Our premiums doubled, for worse coverage.
