Same here. My wife has Lupus and retinal dystrophy that causes erosions in her eyes. We are moving to Portugal. It's too damn racist and expensive here. Especially if you have health issues. Much cheaper over there and a lot less violence. Fuck this place.

When are we going to admit the ACA was a failure? People hate their insurance more than ever, and medical costs keep rising. Everything the govt does to bring costs down only backfires.

People will die or face bankruptcy because of this. It is the middle class who will suffer. Poor people don't pay much now, so almost doubling a small amount will not affect them as much. My son only pays 18.00 a month, so even if it was doubled to 36.00, he would manage.

They are also going to be affected with this bill. Millions will lose their Medicaid coverage because jumping through all the hoops put there on purpose to ensure people will just give up.

Yeah, I’m going to lose mine too. My kids med is $400 a month and my husbands epilepsy med is god knows what.

Everyone needs to rise to the challenge and become as healthy as possible. Elective surgeries, healthcare exams and mammograms, etc etc. encourage those that you love to do the same!! We need to be healthy enough to see how this all plays out!! The ‘immediate’ goal is to get to June of 2029!

They’ve been touching themselves thinking of killing the ACA since before it was passed.

That bill attacks every aspect: ACA, Medicaid, Medicare. Nothing left untouched.

What a lot of people ignore is that this will impact ALL health insurance plans. Many of the rules in the ACA apply to all plans, even employer sponsored plans. Everyone is going to be hurt.

Right, it’ll increase the cost of benefits for employers and employees also, because the same insurance companies participate in the ACA marketplace. Loss of subsidies means less people covered, less revenue. Combine this with the loss of Medicaid contracts which are administered by private ins.

Yep. It’s going to collapse and that is their goal. While WE pay for their medical care.

We need to make sure progressives are in control when it collapses. This would be the pretext for Medicaid for all, a failed private insurance/health system.

Not that there should be an excuse necessary to do what every other wealthy nation has done. While providing better and cheaper care overall.

I’m so pissed off about this one. We are fortunate enough health wise and financially to beat this…. for now. But 95% of everyone else simply can’t

I wasn’t disagreeing with you. Healthcare, food, housing— all of it spiraled out of control in the past 30 years (probably longer, but…) I am in my mid 50s, so cannot really compare much further beyond that, since I wasn’t self sufficient until I was 18.

I know you weren’t disagreeing with me. Every year gets harder for the poor and the middle class. My youngest lives In Floriduh, has a masters degree in education. Still makes a lousy salary and her husband is a manager at a local store. I don’t think they will ever be able to own a house.

Me too, I just dropped my expensive post-retirement from teaching in Missouri insurance and signed up for ACA. Can’t go back. Might have to be uninsured until I’m old enough for Medicare.
