This is a winning messsge in rural America. Ground beef is $9/lb at Walmart… Thanks, Trump.
This is a winning messsge in rural America. Ground beef is $9/lb at Walmart… Thanks, Trump.
Hope everyone’s been prepping!
Same where I live …it’s between 9 & 11 $ a pound @ Walmart This country is well down the road to destruction.
Wow! Here in Canada, Walmart extra lean ground is 8.97 a pound.
Yikes. In TX I think I paid $5/lb (maybe $6?) at HEB yesterday for 90% lean. Beef prices crept up during Covid and have stayed elevated.
I went vegetarian in 2013. I never thought that decision would be validated by Trump and is shit policies. Everyone. Lentils are an excellent substitute for ground beef and any recipe calling for it. One of our favorites is sloppy lentil joe’s. Meat eaters in my family like it better than the beef.
Here’s the extremely easy recipe 1 can lentils or soak 1 cup lentils 1 med onion 1 green bell pepper Your fav bbq sauce Sauté onion & bel pep until softened. Add lentils. Dump in as much bbq sauce as you want. Add 1 cup water or stock if needed. Cover. Simmer. Plop it on a bun. Eat it. Yum.
I bought some thin sliced steak at Walmart yesterday. It was 2#. Bottom round, I think. $28.00. I rarely buy beef anymore. Other than ground beef. 28.00 for 2# of steak so tough it had to be slow cooked in the crockpot for 6 hours. They are systematically taking away our ability to feed ourselves.
Get some brown rice too!!
Beans & rice use to be called the prefect protein. Course then I found out rice is what makes me ache all over. Eat it sparingly now days. Meat & nuts are my go-to, both expensive.
I track the prices in the commissary and they are all up, bananas and watermelon both up 20%,
I paid $14.28 for McCafe 30 oz ground coffee last week at Walmart. It’s $19.96 this week.
I buy an organic coffee bean that's 12oz, it's always been cheaper than other brands I've purchased. In the last month and a half, it's went up $2.57.
When the 50% tariff hits Brazil on Aug 1, coffee is going to skyrocket!
Plain ground beef? I know I get these specialty made burger patties and they run that. But I don't buy regular ground. Turkey is sooo much cheaper, better for us, and in casseroles, chili & tacos taste the same or better.
Definitely! Finally a message that resonates with Americans! Fuck these beef prices!
Now I want some beans and cornbread
Buy your meat from local farmer's cooperatives, not from corporate stores. Better quality, and you are helping your neighbors. I get mine from grassroots coop.com
These prices are somehow Biden’s fault!!
I'm thinking Reagan.
Damn! That’s the highest ground price I’ve seen so far. Let me guess, this is a consequence of tariffs on beef imported from South America and North American cattle ranchers can’t come close to filling that demand?
Price is rising quickly. Two weeks ago it was around $6.50.
If Biden were President, this would be all over the news every day
When Biden was president they were saying this when it wasn’t even happening.
Beans are much healthier anyhow. I hope this wretched timeline forces rural Americans to see that they CAN be vegan (and will likely be cured of their type 2 diabetes in the process).
Democrats- what’s THE central message that will pull together everyday Americans who feel ignored & left behind as we attempt to blunt MAGA GOP propaganda messaging that seems to resonate with so many? How do we recover the trust & bond with voters who keep telling us what they need but Dems miss?
The suffering of animals should cost a lot more than $9/lb. 😳🤷🏽♂️
The cultist fascist Republicans don't give AF about paying higher grocery prices. Their support of #PredatorTrump was always about the bigotry, cruelty, violence & a majority white nationalist government.
The majority of rural Americans vote republican. Still to this day. This is what they wanted bc NONE of them can say they didn't know. Did it to themselves bc Foxnews told them to. Village idiots.
Beans and bologna sandwiches. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner of the financially strapped. (There’s a mess of beans and pork belly simmering on the stove as I type.)
It’s $6.78 a lb where I am.
Everyone should take photos of everything they buy the next time they go shopping and compare prices from the following week every week this mofo is in office so we can see how much were being screwed
Ask the Trumpers.... Its Bidens fault... Obamas fault ,,anyone but Trump... I'm sorry but my optimism about people in the south changing is non existent at this point.. I don't have much hope that the south wont continue to flood congress with charlatans' because well..... history is what it is....
Beans and cornbread are better for you. 👍
And across the river from St. Louis, coffee has already gone up $2 in the last few weeks. One quart of a local brand’s whipping cream was $10.95. Found the same at Walmart for half that, but still. The prices are nuts and will continue to worsen.
Maybe Drumpf will turn us all vegetarian?
Most of the beef production in Nebraska depends on immigrants working at feedlots and immigrants working in packing plants. It’s not that hard to see this would happen.
I’ve missed you. I’ve followed you before on the other place. NE blue dots unite!
Everything is going up — just gives the administration more to lie about.
It’s gonna get much worse. Like, humanitarian crisis level bad.
Prices are up even at Costco
It's more expensive than the organic stuff. I bought a big package at Sams Club a month ago. 88% lean. It was $4.98 lb and it's only gone up 10 cents a lb to $5.08.
Turns out, fascism is expensive.
Yup. Beans and cornbread. And rice. I voted for real food but the MAGAts around me aaaalllll voted for beans and cornbread. So. Here we are.
Also, when did a 12 pk of soda become $9 dollars? NINE. Who's buying this crap at 9$?
When he put a tariff on aluminum
Beer drinkers will be so happy!
They can drink the higher end glass bottles 😂 After 50% tariffs on cans, that might be cheaper anyway.
Thank you! Messaging should focus on prices, prices, prices. Trump and tariffs are causing everything to be more expensive, Trump is causing us to have less. It's the issue that hits home with all Americans.
Getting closer to the TRUE cost of taking lives for the pleasure of the pallate
time to dust off depression-era recipes
They're coming with pitchforks for the prices at WM. Please connect the dots, Trumpers..
I bought an 8 pack of all beef hotdogs yesterday at a local Kroger brand store here in Utah. $8.49 An 8 pack of buns… $4.59 Nowadays grocery prices are no big deal to the media…
Need a catchy name like Trump Burger! Start saying it everywhere and using it in other contexts. Make it known that when something is overpriced and you were told it was gonna be cheaper; that’s a classic Trump Burger!
Two part message. The Epstein stuff hurts him with his base. Higher prices hurt him with everyone else.
I keep hearing that it’s hurting him with his base, but I can’t find anyone that actually says that besides influencers. I keep asking the MAGA around me. Who are you hearing it from? I’d love to interview them for insight
The Maga in my area don't care about Epstein enough to walk away from Trump. And they actually blame Dems for higher prices. Go figure.
I should rephrase and say it has the potential. Some of his voters probably will never abandon him but if listeners of Alex Jones and Nick Fuentes are finally hearing something negative about trump, that can’t be good for him or Republicans.
The cult is so dug in, if even the worst of the worst info came out about him, they'd find it in their hearts & minds to forgive. That was him then, not now. The cult mind is a crazy mind, that's why they drink poisoned kool-aide w/o question. Perhaps this billion $ Murdock lawsuit.... ?
Alex and Nick will probably cry crocodile tears for a few weeks or months but will be back on team MAGA before the mid-terms.
Several bsky writers have shown screenshots of responses to F47’s Untruth Social posts going off on him about Epstein. Also, have seen several Buzzfeed articles showing supporters are done with him. The fact that he has been ratio’d says a lot too.
Have you seen this? Imagine how much worse food prices will get after tacking on trump's idiotic tariffs. bsky.app/profile/bloo...
He didn't even lower the price of eggs.
Question: don’t we raise our OWN beef? Then, WHY?!?!
Supply and demand. You don't raise enough beef.
And maybe the immigrant workers who take the jobs of processing and packaging the beef, are scarce ?!? 😥 I don’t eat beef, but this is sad for my friends and family that do. Not a bad idea to cut back on it, I suppose.
