When corn surplus was too large, high fructose corn syrup was invented and put in literally everything because it was cheaper than sugar. It started the American obesity epidemic. Sugar usage waned but is still too high in calories. Sugar in Coke is just another Trump invented distraction.

They’re forced to grow that GMO corn used in high fructose corn syrup to get government subsidies. And they’re forced by the government to buy it from Monsanto (Bayer). Also, most corn growers aren’t independent farmers but big ag.

I live among cornfields out here in W. Kentucky...beautiful land...and the farmers still have their Trump flags waving in the breeze in front of their homes. It'll be interesting to see if the flags ever come down when reality hits these farmers.
