They tried this move in Oregon and they were ordered arrested and brought back. It only delayed the inevitable. Texas dems need to be harder to find. Vanishing to Mexico might be a move.

They cannot be forced back to TX, although they can be arrested once back in TX. TX dems broke quorum in 2021 for voting rights and in 2003 (I think) protesting gerrymandering then too. I just watched a video of someone explaining this. From what they said there will be a $500 a day penalty for each day they're gone. They can be gone for up to 30 days. They only make about $14 a day. So they're going to need some help! If we can donate that would be something I would do!

I enjoy your posts and your points of view, but this TX thing is just a show right? They'll have to go back at some point and then the redistricting will pass. I'm not sure what is gained.

I am hopeful enough of the people here in TX are coming to their senses. Especially after the flood on July 4th. I’m sure with their Republican majority, it will eventually pass. I also hope it will be the match that lights a fire of change in this state. If not, we are looking at options to leave.
