Really depends on where in D.C. you are, just like Chicago. The more touristy areas are quite safe, as are the areas most politicians are going to be in.

I live in LA. I was at the protests in June. The rioters who set cars on fire were in two square blocks. The LAPD had it under control. If you went a few blocks in any direction, you wouldn’t even know there was anything happening except for helicopters. $168 million waste of money. It’s all 4 show.

I always hear about how dangerous St Louis is, but i lived there for 7 years in City proper. I rode the Metrolink and bus. I often walked from the stop to my home alone after midnight. Never, ever ONCE did anyone even LOOK like they might give me a problem. Some people fear everything.
