Yep. Pretty common. It's also common to see country folks laughing at city folks who don't know how to change a tire. It's all bigotry, as far as I'm concerned.
My hind was completely saved when I was out in the middle of rural Virginia with no cell reception and got a flat and the guy who came up behind me was an off duty EMT with a car lift in his garage a quarter mile away. I could have done it. Probably. But I was very glad to see him.

Unfortunately I have seen that mentality on full display across many mediums and real life. The "they deserve what they voted for" spite point is pretty prevalent with blue state liberals. It shows a lack of understanding of policy/disenfranchisement and a conditional belief in humanitarian values.
