I was lucky in that I only had to drive an hour to deliver, but I was amazed when a friend in the city said she WALKED to the hospital to deliver...she has more than one hospital within walking distance.

🤬🤬🤬🤬
For real omg
I'll never understand why people vote against their own self interest. These women deserve more. My daughter worked in a health clinic in Malawi this summer and their maternity care seems to be the same as rural America. How did we let this happen?
Rural Americans live lives with elements often found in third world countries
😞
It’s what they want
I can't imagine. My 1st time was barely 4hrs between "is that a contraction?" & holding the baby in my arms. 3rd time, I lived 10min from the hospital. By the time a friend drove from the hospital to my house to babysit, and then I drove to the hospital, I nearly had the kid in the parking lot.
An hour! And your friend WALKED!? I just read about the awful infant mortality rates about Mississippi and knew you would understand this immediately
