The bar is pretty low in WA too. Our House Rep had a town hall that prohibited political signs & attire. The moderator immediately shut down constituent’s comments. Blue Dog Democrats don’t like free speech, I guess.
In TN, Marsha Blackburn hasn't had a town hall in 17 years. She makes a habit of showing up at County Seats and announcing she's there hours after she's already gone. Snapping pics with those working there, but only if they ask her no questions.

Many of us who live in the district are cringing at the faint praise. He's all of the bad, none of the good. His "town hall tour" is performative. The people who show up to dissent have to go out of their way (drive a significant distance) and/or give up a work day to attend.
At one of his early town halls (2023) the crowd was deferential - people were trying to be polite. It changed at Belton.
