The best take on taxes for public schools I heard was: "My tax money goes towards public education, and I don't even have kids. I am fine with that, I would rather live in an educated society, so I am fine with my tax dollars going to education even if I don't have kids going to school."

The funding mechanism for most public schools, real estate taxes are a rip off that has been found to be unconstitutional 3 times in Ohio. No ability to actually resolve it. Yet they tax gas, marijuana and sales.....no way to find an alternative way of funding. Sound like a good model to you?

I grew up attending Catholic school with my siblings. My dad sometimes grumbled about paying our tuition and also paying for public school (we didn’t have a lot of $). He knew that education was imperative for all children to succeed and always did his duty. People aren’t like that anymore.

When I tell people I believe strongly in the value and importance of public education, and we homeschool, it definitely confuses people lol. It's like an accommodation for my children.

(*to learn at home). My two older kids aren't athletic but when my youngest is old enough he's hoping to do sports like lacrosse on the school team and would be allowed to here. Kids can do music here too, I believe in MA it's determined by district what students can participate in.

It's good access for those of us who realize public school isn't "the enemy" but might not perfectly fit our needs (ex we are a neurodivergent household, two of us with PTSD, the setting is just so overwhelming). I'll never understand though the people like this guy in the example 😆🤦🏻‍♀️
