Wild to think that the last thing I'll probably have bought from... anywhere outside of the US for a while was an Ippatsuman book

I just had my last Buyee order ship... even they're getting stupid about the situation. I do wonder how much this is going to impact manga that was up for preorder from a lot of publishers. They're going to be eating costs for a while unless they uncerimoniously cancel everyones preorders
It's mostly over their heads though isn't it? I thought it was a Japan Post thing more than a decision by individual retailers. I'm still seeing a bunch that say they'll ship via FedEx/DHL.
No, I meant that publishers are still going to have to pay tariffs on the books coming in from the printers overseas. That's not going to be saddled on retailers. FedEd/DHL are still being used, but places like buyee are charging up front going forward (I just hope it's not double)
Yeah, that's weird. Hopefully you don't get double charged.
HLJ suspended shipments to the US entirely, so at least I'm not ordering through them... so many people are left wondering what's happening with their "in process" orders...
My last Buyee order is shipping today, so I’m hoping that everything goes smoothly with it, but I guess we’ll see
Same! I'm just hoping it makes it California before the "deadline." Otherwise paying DHL and whatnot is going to be a nightmare. They're already bad enough with shunting packages off to the wrong delivery zone.
Yeah I’m hoping the same thing, i don’t really have high hopes for it though at this point lol. I was hoping to be able to get it shipped last week but there was an issue with one of the items so the consolidation didn’t finish until yesterday and most of the shipping options were already disabled
